After testing the DFW market for almost a year now, and not getting a reaction from AA, Spirit decided to increase capacity by adding new destinations. AA still thinks NK only caters to VFR (Visiting Friends and Relatives) traffic and do not challenge their elite customers (Business/Premium traffic).

NK's first destinations from DFW were FLL and LAS; a couple of months after they added ORD. It was the day after AA filed for CH11, when NK announce a big expansion with new flights to BOS, LGA, MCO and ATL. They later announced AZA, MYR, TPA and will probably announce TLC once they get US DOT and DGAC approval.

Impressive growth in one year for a small airline assaulting the hub of a legacy carrier.

In the summer, the will link Dallas Fort Worth with:

FLL
LAS
ORD
BOS
MCO
ATL
LGA
AZA
MYR
TPA
TLC
