France - Provence

I fell for Arles and used it as my base for a one week tour of Provence that included trips to Nimes and Avignon before moving on to stay 3 nights in Aix.

The hotel I chose after lots of research was Hotel Le Calendal which is in the shawow the Roman forum that dominates this little gem of a town.

Just MHO since you asked for input. :)

We loved Villa Gallici in Aix in Provence and LaMirande in Avignon. Both have excellent restaurants as well.

Read Peter Mayle's , "A year in Provence". Although you probably already have. Pick up a copy of Rick Steves Provence Guide book.

If you can rent a car explore. Driving is not difficult in Provence.
