Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Orbitz Itinerary not showing up in My Trips.

Hi everyone.

Let me preface so that I don't get yelled at that I've searched the threads and couldn't find anything specifically related to this issue. If I may have missed this being addressed elsewhere then so be it.

I used Orbitz today for the first time in order to book a hotel room in June. I got an email confirmation with an Orbitz Reference Number and it also includes a Hotel Confirmation Number.

That's all nice and good but my reservation isn't showing up in my My Trips. I did call Orbitz to confirm and they were able to confirm the reservation. I also did an online chat with a CSR and she confirmed that I was good to go. Neither could figure out why the reservation wasn't showing up.

I also took it a step forward and confirmed with my hotel abroad and they confirmed I was all set.

However, I'm just really leery after reading Orbitz reviews and something just isn't sitting right with me about my itinerary not being able to be seen in my online account.

Any suggestions as to what I should do? Am I overreacting here? I just plopped down a sizable chunk of change that is non-refundable and I don't want to be stranded when I land on the other side of the pond come June.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Orbitz and other such sites make reservations through a global distribution system that connects to the hotels, airlines, etc. The most likely explanation here is that the hotel took the reservation down and then removed it from the distribution system, so you can no longer see it on there. This happens a lot with airlines if you decide to make a change to the itinerary; I'm not sure how it works with hotels. However, if the hotel confirmed that they have the reservation, then you should be fine. I would print a copy of the reservation and take it with you just in case.

If you just did it today, give it some time.

It doesn't really matter if it shows up in Orbitz, what matters is that the hotel has the reservation, which apparently they do.

I would confirm with them just before your trip and not worry about it between now and then.

Thanks Mike.

Just worried because I haven't read the most flattering of reviews (which I read after I booked).

I've had double confirmation from the hotel overseas (they've given me the hotel confirmation reservation number) but they couldn't email me a copy of the reservation from their hotel.

However, I've gotten it confirmed from Orbitz Customer Service twice (once on the phone and once online) that I'm good to go.

Both the hotel and Orbitz have verbally told me I'm locked in because I prepaid.

I know this is minor so maybe I'm just way too overly concerned. I'll try not to worry about it anymore though. :)

I had a similar problem and had to call them to get it fixed. For some reason the trip just didn't go through their system properly. I thought it may have been on my end and tried clearing my browser and all that but it was actually on their behalf. Showed up right away after I called.http://rewardslink.info/flash/images/18.gif
