Hi all,

I am trying to find out if I should be taking the Eithad from NY - Mumbai or should I go with Continental non-stop from EWR- Mumbai.

I will be flying international in a long time so I have no idea, from little research I did, I found that the Continental seats are only 31" what about Eithad?

How is the service between the two? Any one who has flown both what was your experience?

Do you need transit visa for Abu Dhabi?

Answering a few questions would help us suggest you better ideas -

Will you be flying Y or J?

Do you live in Manhattan or NJ?

No. You do not need a transit visa for Abu Dhabi.

I would choose Etihad. Simple reason - the non-stop is a very looooooooooong flight. On Etihad you have to change planes in Abu Dhabi. You can stretch a little and service wise, Etihad is way better than any US airline.

Not sure if the "long flight" aspect is very relevant, because the difference in flying time from NYC to Abu Dhabi or Bombay will be an hour or two at most. Recall that Abu Dhabi-Bombay is not very far, relatively speaking. The transit in Abu Dhabi will also add to your total travel time, so factor that in your plan.

As others have noted, you need to decide between the class you'll travel, airport distance from your home (EWR or JFK) and ultimately the price difference as well....
