Nice blog...keep it up.

Just wondering, on the issue of going through Immigration and Customs in Pakistan, did you experience any issues or being hassled by the stupid/silly questioning by the FIA/customs/immigration people?

On a recent visit, disembarkation cards were given to pax but hardly anyone filled them out, even the one for "foreigners" which includes Pakistanis who are traveling on foreign passports to Pakistan.

My parents were asked a couple of stupid questions, a cousin of mine was asked for bribe, etc at ISB airport upon exit from Pakistan.
Is that the norm or just so on a less busy day with officials having plenty of time on their hands?

I noticed the PIA livery on the photographs is old, didn't they change it recently or something? Or is it still the same. We flew with Etihad so couldn't tell.

Hey transitguy1,

Thank you for the comments. Will do.. Ive got loads more to write (PAK/UK/SPAIN etc) so bookmark/follow it! :D

Immigration is usually ok, you may get asked the odd question but they are actually very good just a little slow in my opinion.

It's debatable and it depends on your passport. When I flew PIA it was mandetory that it was filed in but that was back in the early noughties. I have been flying Gulf carriers since 2004 (sadly PIA have lost its reputation with me so I no longer want to fly them!) and they only had out cards to people with foreign passports.

Customs are another story.. one word. Bribe! No matter what Pakistani airport you go through they want something to put in their pocket. Unfortunate really. Yup that is an old trip report hence why the 747 is in old livery.

HAHAHA You know it transitguy! :D ^

They are such amazing looking machines mate.

It is interesting that lorry drivers have continued on this tradition with newer cargo trailers! :) ^

I remember speaking to many of them and they are such a lovely friendly bunch of truckers! :D

It's actually one of the nicer styled Blogspot blogs I have seen. Maybe the blog post title could have more padding at the top because it looks a bit squashed as is. Otherwise good luck and don't burn out like I did when I tried a travel blog.

Great blog, I'd love to keep reading it, but at the moment it's not too comfortable to do so.

What I would suggest, is to buy a domain and hosting of your own, put the blog on WordPress (wordpress.org) and look into some plug-ins that allow you to put in easy-to-view gallery to each post. That way you can use far more pictures in every post, and people would love to see more photos, myself included!

Good job, and good luck!

I have been looking to swtich from Blogspot to WordPress. Is it better for editing/formatting/reading?

I have been working on it abit more, you may have seen the Dynamic views version which was live last night but I have changed it now to this format which feels alot more easier on the eyes! Let me know what you think?

I do want to add more photographs but the current way Blogspot is made adding too many photos seems over-whelming! lol

It's better for everything! You'll love it - it's simple, easy, understandable and comfortable to use. It has a lot of awesome skins and plugins.

That's exactly why you should get your own hosting and domain. It's not overly expensive. You can take bigger hosting and upload the pics there, or the smallest hosting (only enough to store Wordpress itself) and upload your pics to some free galleries or something. You'll need to do more research on that as I'm not the one to ask, but it would be definitely cooler to see more great pictures.

Have fun!

Coolio. I will take a look at it over the weekend and give it a test run. I did love the "Magazine" version of Blogger's new Dynamic views but the editing is horrible. There are far too many bugs at the moment - considering it is quite a new platform! Let's see :D

You do have a nice blog. Its layout is clean. I think you just need to include social media buttons in every of your blog post so your readers can share the blog post easily to their social media accounts if they like it.

I loved reading your trip report from Lahore to Dubai to Heathrow. It was quite interesting and you do write very well. Let me give you some pointers to consider.

1. Please use a spell checker and if you do then please copy paste in Microsoft Word then rerun the spell checker and then copy/paste again.

2. Reread every word before posting. I have found mistakes that spell checker wont find. example: "The Arabs sue did spend a lot of money on it".

3. Dont use slang or shortcuts in language. This is serious writing that demonstrates your command of English. example: "you can never go wrong with food when your in Lahore."

4. Check your facts: You wrote "Lahore was buzzing! There was an airBlue A319". The fact is that airBlue doesnt fly A319s. Here is from their website, "Starting in 2004, airblue's fleet of next-generation Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft began offering world-class travel to many cities within Pakistan. "

One last thing, It seems the level of detail gets lower towards the end. Take your time in finishing the article. Dont feel rushed to get it out there quickly.

I hope you take my criticism in improving your blog and dont get offended by it. I think you have a great talent in capturing and writing the details.

Thank you bandpartynj for your lovely comments. I will be adding twitter to the site soon and do try to share the content with a selection of the aviation/travel websites I follow. Not sure what else to do to promote it?

You have made some excellent points tashi. I do not take any criticisms negatively at all. After all I am here to understand everyone's opinion it is how I will improve my writing skills.

Now lets study your points one by one.

1. I do use Microsoft Office before I transfer my blog posts onto blogger. However sometimes the Spell check does skip some of the words due to their format.

2. Yes, when I initially wrote this article. I did read it afew times but it is quite long so I must have got tired at some point that I lost concentration. I shall take more time editing and re-reading the material.

3. I think alittle bit of personal words should not really harm the article. I do realise it is a serious piece of literature but afew comments from the writer shouldn't hurt should it?

4. Airblue did operate A319. I have an Airblue report coming soon. Prehaps it was an A320 at the time that I witnessed.

I do realise the ending does feel a bit rushed probably because there was not much to write about near the end of my journey so I may have finished where the reader was expecting more. I shall try to pay more attention to how I end my trip reports.

Thank you so much tashi, you have give me so much to work on for my next few trip reports which will include Etihad, Qatar, Oman Air and airblue! ^

I wrote the article afew months ago and did re-read it but I too noticed that the quality become quite poor towards the end interms of spelling and trying to keep the reader interested.

I have been reworking on the Emirates article and have made corrections as you suggested! Thank you for all your help! Keep letting me know your thoughts! :)

Lahore is one of the most amazing cities I have ever travelled to, known to be the cultural centre of Pakistan, the city is infused with some of the most highly regarded cuisines, historical and archaeological sites as well as being a significant cosmopolitan city.Today the city is continuing to grow, ever pushing itself to be a front runner in this cultural, financial and political world.

Lets start with the old, after all old is gold. The older city of Lahore, locally known as Androon Sher (Inner city), is the place to visit if you really want to experience Punjabi culture. The streets around the Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque still retain their prestige and cultural atmosphere ever since the fall of the Mughals. You will always find a guide, who will be willing to take you round the sites and talk about the historical significance of the Fort and its surrounding areas... you will be surprised as to how much they know! The Fort is located exactly opposite the Badshahi Mosque and the Minar-e-Pakistan. There is also a gurdwara between the two sites which holds significance importance to Sikh Emperor Ranjit Singh.
