I'm heading to Toronto in early March and needing to spend half a day (with a very early start) at a forum about an hour out of town. I'm looking for a driver/ town car/ etc service (nothing fancy required but reliability essentially). Can anyone recommend a service or advise what a reasonable rate might be?
Thanks.

We use "Airline Limos" for our trips to and from the Toronto Airport, and have found them punctual and reliable for many years. Not sure if they only run to and from the airport, or you can hire them for other trips in the area, so you may have to call or try to email them for the information. Website has a map with rates on it, and we note that they now also charge a small "fuel surcharge" on each booking.
Website is: www.airlinelimo.com

We use a service call Rosedale Livery. They have very nice vehicle fleet with choices and options. You can google them up.

Thanks to you both. I will look into the options you've both suggested.

Found this advice on another thread.............very useful!^
There's an optimal method. The limo companies also operate as taxis and charge taxi rates or less. They always have cars available and what you do is call when you are ready to be picked up. The dispatcher contacts the last car to have entered the compound and they are specifically designated to come and pick you up in a matter of minutes. (It is interesting to realize why they choose the last one in line from their company). I find the best rates are with Aeroport (800-465-3434) and the next best with Air Flight (800-268-6843). Call and ask for a taxi car and they will tell you to go to the pre-arranged pickup area at a specific spot in the arrivals drive-up and they will tell you the car number. No matter how busy it is, you will get a car and the price will be fair. They don't want you to book in advance. For getting to the airport, you can book in advance. Each has a web site.

I like these guys as they do not outsource to unknown 3rd party contractors. You get a real professional company driver and a dispatcher who knows what is going on.
It turns out that many limo companies are simply a yellow pages ad with a string of forwarded cell phone numbers. Who are you getting, it's a mystery.

I really rate Cullitons - always on time, reasonable rates and I have always had very polite, professional drivers. Their number is 416-495-1900.
Aeroport taxi has excellent service and charges less because they use vans in some instances. I have found them very reliable (www.aeroporttaxi.com)and they will give you the price in advance. They pick you up if you call when you arrive at the airport.
