I am in outside sales, so when I rent a car, it essentially becomes a mobile office for the duration of my trip. Each rental can range from 500 - 800+ miles in a week, so my seat time is fairly significant. When I rent a car, I generally take a satellite radio as well from Avis to alleviate my boredom. I must have become used to this since I found myself slightly depressed when I was unable to hook up the satellite radio in the new Ford Explorer. This made me realize that I have subconsciously developed a list of creature comforts that I look for in a car before accepting it and driving off.
I'm curious if other people have any requirements or preferences in a vehicle that you look for specifically before driving off. Let's hear some of your preferred provisions.
Here are some of mine:
Requirements:
1. 2 cigarette lighters located from the driver's seat forward (1 for GPS, 1 for the satellite radio)
2. USB Plug In to charge phone
3. Line-In (satellite)
4. Power stays on when key is off (GPS doesn't turn off at each stop, most Fords/Chevys)
5. Cruise control / radio buttons on steering wheel
5.a: Cruise control that does not turn off (Chevys)
Bonuses:
1. Bluetooth
2. Center Display
3. Remote Start
4. Key-less Entry
5. Backup Camera
