Aegean Airlines Miles&Bonus - Aegean Forum FAQ Questions - Your Ideas?

Ok, we've been up and running on the A3 forum for a bit now and it is clear that certain things just keep coming up again, and again and again.

As Mod, I spend a considerable amount of time merging the same things in to existing threads - how long does... how many miles do... how do I enter... when will my card arr... :p

So, let me throw this one to the good readers of this board - please list the topics you'd like to see covered in a board FAQ... and keep it simple for now - just topic headers, rather than discussion or details.

Thanks,

GoldCircle

Here are some FAQ-ish questions to get this started

- Membership levels
-- What are the different levels
-- How do I attain status levels?
-- How do I retain status levels?
-- When do I get my new card?
-- What are the perks of each level?

- Earning miles
-- What are the different type of miles?
-- Is COS bonus applied on actual miles or minimum miles?
-- Are there any miles-bonuses, like elite bonus, on top of earnings?
-- Is it important to check the earnings table, or can I just assume I will earn the same amount as on my old program? :p
-- How soon will miles post?
-- How to retro claim miles?
-- What to do when reservation/check in doesn't accept A3 FF#

Any chance of encouraging an (un)official Aegean lurker? Methinks could be educational for both sides.

Yeah, so then they realize that their FFP has far too low of a status threshold and they change it. What a great idea

Yeah... they don't know it yet, they don't know how to handle a FFP.... we do! Ssshhh.....

What on earth makes you think that anything happening here will make them change their mind about their value proposition? It has been fine tuned by accountants, you know.

There seem to be a few airlines that people regularly have issue crediting to A3 - I'm sure the info is out there, but might be helpful to collect known problems in the FAQ.

As an aside - the A3 forum seems to be doing well and although still a low number of threads compared with more established airline fora, there's plenty of discussion. Strangely, the A3 forum has the highest average number of posts per thread - is this just a hangover of the "megathread"?

But having a lurker from A3 acknowledged, who might very occasionally actually put in a direct reply (like Joanna for BMI) would be nice for both sides I think.... or even if it's pretty much acknowledged that there is an A3 "lurker"

Ok, I guess y'all are right...

Let's get ourselves a lurker...

As for the question of how to get a lurker, I suggest a phone blitz to the M&B desk requesting one :)

If you're able to get them on the phone....

I think that's definitely part of the reason.

My other thought, is that we're all pretty much newbies to this programme - with 3 or 4 exceptions - so, we all have the same initial questions, needs and observations - and accordingly, people are posting within the existing relevant threads.

I think you'll find that as an FAQ emerges, it will follow the same pattern.

I have been lurking the Aegean board, and as a newbie, have found the info pretty easy to navigate. I think the focus is really on the M&B program (as it should be) and not on gate agent anger and other issues that occur when you actually place your butt in that seat on that actual airline.
Also, so far, I have found the program to do what I have asked it to do. I will show more concern as I close in on *Gold, but so far... miles have been credited correctly and when I had to claim miles, they got credited promptly so I have every reason to think the program works... and... I search the threads before I ask a question.
So, a pinned FAQ will work... but until this program becomes a lot more complicated or folks start flying this airline regularly, there probably wont be a lot of threads per day here.

I don't fly A3 regularly but I flew them long before there was even a hint that they might join *A.

Hello, thank you for this thread. Can anyone point out when A3 sends out their membership cards?
Reached A3 silver a month back, and nothing in the mail yet. (based in SAT).

Have a read here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/aegean-airlines-miles-bonus/1284671-how-long-my-a3-g-card-arrive-what-do-while-waiting.html) - there's a helpful post at the top by arahlen that should explain things (seems to be true for both A3*S and *G cards).

How about an FAQ on how to claim missing miles - seems to be all sorts of threads on this but no definitive guide. For instance I can't even find the email address for M&B to complain about something not getting credited that I have asked to be credited.

Exactly. I have experience with AC, AA programs but have only recently been getting CX miles for TPAC (and converting a bunch of Petro Points to AM) and I use this program because I am a refugee from AC (and all of their 'enhancements')

Late to the discussion, but GoldCircle said...

Exactly. A3 doesn't give nearly as many bennies & perks as other programs or status above G, but then they don't have to pay for those things, either. Having lower status thresholds lets them attract customers that wouldn't otherwise consider their program.

This is a common query that should be addressed in an FAQ
