Hey guys,
Did a quck search and didnt find anything
Is there a way to do a free stopover in AMS... for example.. LAX-AMS (stop over for a few days) continuing on to BUD?
thanks

If you mean on an LAX-BUD ticket:
- if it's a paid ticket, it will depend on the fare rules
- if it's an award ticket, this is not possible.
You could find out the answer by checking the price of a mult-city booking as opposed to a straight-through routing on the KLM website. If the prices don't look too good on the multi-city routing, try pricing separate LAX-AMS and AMS-BUD tickets on different dates (though I think that will probably work out the most expensive).
If you mean on an LAX-BUD ticket:
- if it's a paid ticket, it will depend on the fare rules
Looking quickly at the fare rules for LAX-BUD return on KL, it seems:
- the cheapest booking classes (T and below) do not allow stopovers
- slightly more expensive classes (Q and above) allow one stopover in each direction, for $100 each
- full fare tickets allow unlimited stopovers
I haven't checked, but I assume DL (and AF) rules are similar. As irishguy28 has said, you should be able to book a ticket including a stopover by using the multi-city booking tool at KLM.com.

The last time I tried this kind of thing KL.com came up with B and Y fares as soon as there was a stopover. YMMV...
