Air France Frequence Plus - Lounge at Roissy 2F (Schengen) w/ photo - How is this possible?

Seriously, I don't get this at all?

Grown up people flying on quite expensive tickets and/or fly so much that they gain access to a private lounge and still don't know how to use a simple everyday object properly such as a basic phone?

Look past the rubbish gathered around the phone - it was a very quiet 110% full lounge on a Sunday around 12:30 and the staff did (as usual) nothing - but please tell me how this is possible? How can the receiver go missing? Did some one see it fit to knick? A trophy maybe?

Picture here (http://s1066.photobucket.com/albums/u412/Cupart/?action=view&current=photo.jpg).

This said, what adds insult to injury, is that the sad remains have been like this for a very long time (what I remember anyway) and strange that the AF staff haven't (at least) removed the poor sod...

PS. The trash was not mine either as I usually take my own and walk the 5-8 meters to throw it out my self... ;)

that's horrible! Is the current strike in Paris , possibly affecting the service?

You mean pulling off the receiver of the phone in pure "strike" anger? Can't see for me a hoard of pilots running into the lounge thinking: Let's pull the receiver off the phone and that will show them who's daddy :D

Also, I don't think the pilot's do the actual cleaning in the lounges so their strike has no impact I'm made believe (besides this photo was taken on the day before - i.e. the 5th of Feb at noon) ;)

This is the consequence of (badly managed) subcontracting.

Cleaning/catering staff at CDG AF lounges are from GSF and Elior (not AF).

But surely the uniformed staff checking your BP are on AF payroll and do (once in a blue moon) take a walk though the lounge to check if everything is ok?

Are you crazy?
Not quite sure it is in their job description.
Do you want another strike?! ;)

:D:D:D

In all fairness, I don't think the lounges look too shabby over all (maybe a bit tired in some places/areas) and I have seen AF uniformed staff (with up to 3 stripes on their sleeve) walking through the lounge at 2E checking if all is fine.

What irritates me is the lack of respect for items available to passengers going through the lounge without having to either steal or break things which other people might need...

Well, at least they do a better job than the automatic "Acces no1" checkpoints in ORY (Hall 4) and in CDG (T1 Lufthansa satellite) that never gave me access being a DL Plat and a CO Plat...

What exactly do these represent? I always thought it applied to pilots only, but from your description I'm starting to doubt ;-)

Very good question.

I think flying staff may have silver and ground staff gold but haven't paid any close attention to it.

Maybe someone else in here would know?

AF Schengen lounge is a joke. Today in Kl Schengen lounge: fresh fruit (apples, kiwis, bananas). Hearty tasty salad, pickle salad, cucumber salad. Two different soups. Different bread rolls. Olive mix, tasty cheese, penut mix, crisps mix. Chicken wings, nachos with two different sauces. Fresh cake. And some bread thingies I don't know the name of. And last but not least plenty of lounge space and clean tables!
