California - any new great ethnic restaurants in San Diego?

I did a search and nothing came up. Love all ethnic foods, perhaps Thai is not real high on list. Anything new that has opened in the last two years that is good? Not really interested in the real high end options. Always try to find the ones the locals keep to themselves

Maybe no one posted about this place because it is a secret :).

Might be too high end for you but Peruvian food seems to be on the high end whether at this restaurant or Qero in Encinitas ( which is also outstanding).

If the "low end" is what you are after, look up the San Diego Reader on line and see what Ed Bedford is writing about in his column called The Tin Fork. The Reader also has an excellent restaurant section and may feature some smaller places that magazines like San Diego Magazine might overlook.

They have a "find a restaurant" search engine where you can search by food types. To test it I tried the first "ethnic" selection - Afghan and it came up with two restaurants. I am sure you will find something by using that tool.

Happy eating :).

I have eaten at Qero and it was good. Sorry but I have returned from my trip so will have to save the rest of the ideas for next time.
