Nice. The 4 additional LIM-JFK are day flights to compliment 7x weekly night flights. Maybe even they will have an introductory sale?

And the new LIM-JFK flight means we can connect in from LHR, giving an alternative to MIA, avoiding those horrible nightflights. On the return though it looks tight - 2120 arrival from LIM for a 2255 departure to LHR. I don't know what the MCT is in JFK for int-int.

Legal connection time NYC – it varies a wee bit by airline, but last time I checked with LAN they had 1:15 hour int-int. Seems a bit tight though.
Best to check with the specific airline.

Is this an LA/BA or LA/AA connection?

I read that the SFO flight will go to 5 weekly in September?

Do we know when these flights will be loaded? LAN hasn't budged on "I" fares ex-SA in over two months --- maybe I could finally catch a break!

That would be a LA/BA connection. We've done those before at JFK - but connecting into the night flight - being able to connect to a day flight would be much better. It'll take a while though before through fares will be loaded I suspect.

So you'd be going T8 to T7 - I have no idea how bad T8 would be at your arrival hour. For the reverse, although it has been ages since I've had an int'l T7 arrival, they were typically easy.

Sure hope they announce an opening special?

Yes, I booked one of these accidentally for October not realizing it was a daytime flight so now I have JFK-LIM from 4:25pm to 11:20pm and then LIM-EZE from 1:10am to 7:40am. I have no idea when I am going to try and sleep during this combo. Hopefully they will close the window shades and turn out the lights shortly after takeoff. In any event it is the return portion of a trip so I can just sleep when I get home.

On a recent SFO/LIM, which departed at 1015a, the LP crew tried to get the J cabin fed and cleaned up so quickly, and then shades down, probably before 1pm local SFO time. I have no doubt they'll shut the shades quickly. I just don't know how people are already sleeping so early. The flight arrived LIM at 7-something PM SFO time.

Well, in that case people are likely to have gotten up quite early to make the flight; I don't think that will be the case with a 4pm departure but we shall see.

All in all good new for JFK-LIM travellers... Especially since should make upgrades easier. Maybe I might find a use all those useless upgrades afterall. They priced the day flight $120 less in Y so it should fill up faster for price sensitive travellers, no? J equally expensive so will the red-eye or day day flight fill up faster? What are opinions here, do revenue business travellers prefer day flights or night flights?

LAN Adds More Flights Into MIA:
*Starting on July 1, LAN Colombia will increase frequency on the BOG-MIA route from 4x weekly to a daily service (A320). Thus LAN will offer 10 weekly non-stop flights between BOG and MIA.
*Starting on September 16, LAN will increase frequency on both the SCL-PUJ-MIA and SCL-CUN-MIA routes to 2x weekly. Thus, LAN will offer 9 weekly direct flights between SCL and MIA, along with 2 daily non-stop flights between SCL and MIA.

Is anyone booked on the new JFK-LIM flights (specifically LA 2534 & LA 2535) prior to 23 November? Because all the September and October flight seem to be still loaded but all zeroed out. Fortunately I was able to rebook on a better flight anyway so it turned out to be a win-win for me but if LAN has not contacted you and you are booked on any of these flights you may want to look into it. I haven't checked the other new flights but I imagine there may similar anomalies.

Anyone know anything about LA2937 MIA-LIM? It doesn't show up on LAN's website when trying to book MIA-LIM. But it does show-up in ExpertFlyer as of 09/08/2012, but every date as all fare buckets zeroed-out.
From info in this thread, LAN is adding additional frequencies MIA-LIM, but this flight number does not show as being one of them.
However, AA put me on this flight today on an AAdvantage Award ticket MIA-LIM on 12/26/2012.

I think there have been a few "holding" flight #s for schedule changes - there's also a non-existent SFO/LIM segment on some days all 0d out.

I also noticed that if this flight actually does exist and operate, it will be on one of LAN's new superfast 767s because it lists light time to LIM at 4h40m, rather than the normal 5h20m! :D

There are a couple of non-existent flights loaded in the timetable listing in the GDS including LAN's website, including LA29xx and LA99xx

Seems a SOP with Lan. Saw it during the LIM airport closure/upgarde last January. They temporarily added a new flight to get the new times and just zero'd out the regular flight (instead of just changing its times).
