ok ... so My names Matt ... this is my first official time posting something i actually care about on a forum and really need help(excuse the TERRIBLE grammar and possible extreme spelling errors)

I need to travel to the Philippines sometime within the next year and i dont have much money nor make much money but this trip is important ... i would prefer not to spend a thousand dollars to get there so what i am looking for is THIS:

1) the cheapest POSSIBLE way to get there ... i dont care how i get there how much time it takes or how many times i have to switch vehicles or even if i gotta sleep in the street ...(as long as it doesnt take over a month to get there im good)

2) i would like the travel arangements to be atleast possible for me to do ... so nothing like i have to get off a boat at 6 am and get on a train at 6:02 in an area i dont know when the train is 20 minutes away (dont need to be trapped in a foreign country) :D ...

3) i would like to know how much money i would need to get back as well so that i can plan the budget ... all in all im looking to spend about 1000 up to 1200 USD to get there and back ... the funds while im there are somewhat taken care of

origin/destination ... lets just say .. starting near Orlando Florida and arriving in Manilla Philippines hopefully within the next 30 days if someone can come up with something i would like to go on this trip ... but if not i would atleast like some ideas so i can get this trip planned within the next 2 years would be great

ANY AND ALL HELP APPRECIATED... if you have stupid comments like "NOT GONNA HAPPEN" or "YOU ARE DUMB FOR EVEN TRYING" please keep them to yourselves negativity is not encouraged nor appreciated

-HEY LOOK ... ITS MATT!

Matt - sometimes people get good rates via bidding on www.priceline.com.

One possible problem is that a successful bid draws immediately from your credit card.

There are no refunds, and you'd have to pick your return date also.

While it is all on major carriers, you have to accept flights any time of day. There are limits on the connection times, but I don't know them off-hand. I don't remember them as being terrible.

I looked at rates a little. They do seem to go up in the summer, and now is sort of a lower time.

There are a number of web sites one can set to watch for fare sales. www.kayak.com is one. You can search on something like "airfare alerts" for others.

Hi Matt. Help us out some. Part of your post says you are going in the next year, then in the next 30 days, then in the next two years. Can you narrow it down?

Assuming you already have a passport, which airport is your final destination? MNL will have the most connections if you are connecting, but if you are going into Northern Luzon then flying Asiana into CRK could work too.

To sum up the cheapest fares, my friends in the SFO area always use ticket consolidators and usually pay up to $200 less than I've paid, but most of time they're flying Philippine Air Lines (PAL), aka Plane Always Late.

Last but not least, you have to pay cash in Philippine money to leave the country. If I recall correctly, its $75 Philippine peso's, but that may have changed.

I've only been there twice, once to MNL and to CRK, so I'll give you what little help I can.

Well, quite frankly I'm surprised at all the help you already received

FTers don't normaly help too much if you haven't shown a little initiative and told us whay you found. We like to see you made at least some effort before asking for others to do the lifting for you.

Hence the "no fare request."

Moderator hat on: We've relaxed the rules a little, and do help those that ask, but to discourage this from becoming a "what's the cheapest airfare" forum we keep the sticky. /Moderator off

canddmeyer is quite correct. Your post is confusing. Help us out - perhaps the excitement of the journey is making you contradict yourself.

And I have to agree with two suggestions above: contact an "ethnic" travel agent with Philippine ties or do Priceline name your own price.

Oh, and welcome to FlyerTalk.

im sorry i posted this when i was pretty much half asleep so when i re-read everything it looked flawless(minus the grammar/spelling) ... basically i was hoping to go within the next 30 days ... but with my schedule i have to work around im really hoping to go anytime within the next year ... BUT ... i HAVE to get there within the next 2 years whether i have 2 pay full price or not .. thats pretty much what i was saying there... and even tho i found flights for about 1200 after taxes i keep finding stuff pushed up 2 about 1300 + who knows what for bags depending on what i bring ... because im not sure of what i am packing yet ... so really i was hoping to find something at around 1000 so that after taxes and luggage i wouldnt punch through 1200

I really appreciate all the help so far ive been looking at everyones posts and using them as much as i can to find something ... i really hope i can find something within the month tho otherwise i have to wait till later in the year and that will suck because i will have to work around my classes UGHHH haha ... anyway
thx again for the help people i really appreciate it

International dpt tax is currently P750 (or U.S. 17.50) to be paid in cash upon check-in.
