Hi everybody,
Recently, I've been lamenting the dearth of pupusas, nuegado, pickles, plantains with condensed milk, and other excellent choices entering my denimed soul. Could anyone suggest a casual Salvadoran restaurant in any of the five boroughs? Sure, even Staten Island-I'll make it a Salvadoran and Sri Lankan day should an eatery be located there.
Thanks,
TBS
I searchedon Yelp and the top rated Salvadoran restaurants in the area:

A search of NYMag (http://nymag.com/search/search.cgi?tx=salvadoran&Ns=Relevance%7C0&t=restaurant&x=0&y=0) turns up a few more interesting-sounding places (ignore the Ecuadorian one that just has a mention of neighboring Salvadoran joints in the description), including one in Jackson Heights (http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/tierras-salvadorenas/) that earns a critic's pick checkmark and apparently has live music on Saturday nights. I think I know which one I'd try first...

Thanks higo and themicah for your suggestions. Jamaica, eh? Now if only pupusas traveled well...finding nuegado I reckon would be a bit more difficult.

August update:
I went to a place called Pupusas Zone on Broadway in between Jackson Heights and Woodside. Not bad (tried one with frijoles y queso, and another with chipilín, a leaf, and queso), and they were very generous with the curtido. Nice staff, decent overall IMO.
Now about a pupusa place in Manhattan...
