I called in at 10:40 PM this evening and was greeted with the message "Our office is closed...our Sunday business hours end at 11 PM Eastern time. Please leave a message and we will get back to you..." Then I was disconnected with no opportunity to leave a message.

AirTran elite phone service had always been very good, we will see how long that lasts in the merger chaos.

I called the A+ rewards line some months ago around midnight. Got a message it was closed. I think I mentioned this in another thread. In the past I always got a response at that time.

Another example of cutbacks by SWA.

The elite line has never been 24/7. I remember calling a few years ago and it was closed late at night on a weekend.

The hours could have been shortened more recently, however. I just don't call it enough to know for sure.

+1 on all the above - they have closed overnight on Saturday & Sunday for at least 3 years.

But to return to the original post, the recorded message tells you that it is after hours and that they close at 11 PM on Sunday nights. And this was what I heard at 10:40 PM when I called.

Sorry for missing that "minor detail"!

Were you calling from the East coast? If so, I would send their comments e-dress a note to let them know about the issue.

The CSR at 1 800 Air Tran informed me they were handling most of the special service calls. Apparently the special service desk is being downsized or phased out.

A few weeks ago I called the # to inquire on times of earlier flights and it went through the normal prompts and then disconnected me. Did that for several calls over a couple of days. Could not get through at all.
