I presume you meant to say that you'll land in London, not Paris?!

Eurostar (http://www.eurostar.com/) is the train service that runs between London and Paris - though if you're travelling on the 12th February (i.e. a week from now) then I'm afraid you've basically left it too late to get a cheap train ticket - at other times there may have been a few cheap tickets still available, but the week of 13-17 Feb is half-term holiday for most of England's schools, which serves to bump up demand for that week. (Also note that Eurostar very rarely do special offers or discounts.)

Eurolines (http://www.eurolines.co.uk/) run coaches (aka buses) between London and Paris, which can be a cheaper option (though again I suspect you're a bit late to get one of the really cheap fares), but do take note of how long the journey is.

Skyscanner (http://www.skyscanner.net/) is useful for comparing flight prices.

I'd recommend taking the Eurostar (if the fare is reasonable), it gets you from one city centre (Kings X St Pancras) to the other (Gare du Nord) in under 2hrs. Security checks for Eurostar are similar to those for airlines.

Not quite under two hours. The journey time alone is at least 2:16. When you add in the immigration and security formalities at St. Pancras, you are looking at a 2:45 to 3 hour trip.

Eurostar sells tickets like airlines, the cheap ones go first. Closer to travel, The more you will pay. More than one site has pricing, and for some reason they don't always have the same prices, even though they look identical. You might consider breaking up the ticket, rather than one single booking go London- Calais, then Calais- Paris. We saved significant money doing that.

True, I was confusing the jouney time beteen London and Paris with the jouney time between London and Brussels (1h51 if I'm not mistaken). Also, eurostar requires you to have checked in at least 30 minutes before departure (10 minutes if you're travelling in BusinessPremier)

I'd not recommend a bus. That channel is hard to cross by bus. :D

Seriously, it's Eurostar all the way. I make that crossing at least twice a year.

Re the check-in 30 minutes beforehand - that's what they say, but in practice there's no hard cut-off and you can arrive with say 20 minutes to go (if there are signicant queues for check-in then just go and talk to a member of staff who'll let you cut in the queue at the front - those in the queue will probably be checking-in for a later train). In fact, as has been observed on here in the past, the queues at T-45 are often longer than they are nearer departure time.

Not really, some take the ferry and some go via EuroTunnel. They're slow, sure, but you've got wifi while you're on land.
