I am flying Air Berlin from VCE (Venice) - BER-LAX in June.
This connection will involve an overnight stay in Berlin. We arrive at 8:45PM and depart 10AM the next day. The VCE-BER flight is an economy only flight.
As the flights are on 2 different days, will we get the business class allowance for both flights?
If it matters, I will be AA PLT / OneWorld Saphire on the travel date (now Exec Plat). The other traveler has no status. Each passenger is on a separate PNR. These were booked through American as partner business class awards.
Is this on one ticket? If so, you will get business class allowance on all flights.
oneworld benefits are not clear yet.

Yes, one ticket per person, just a separate PNR for the other passenger, since I originally needed 3 business class awards, and there were only one.
So, I decided to put the teens in economy.. One teen canceled, and there was still a seat left in business, so we are now both in business.
Since we will be on a cruise, we might take more stuff than normal, so we might have 1 1/2 bags each. Not a problem on the outbound as it will be checked in at AA and the AA flight is business. We are going SNA-ORD (3 day stopover)-LHR (day flight with overnight at LHR) - VCE (last leg is economy on BA).

Check out this thread in the AA forum:
There is an IATA resolution that requires airberlin (Not NIKI) to give you the same baggage allowance as your MSC (most significant carrier).
Then there is also a federal law that requires them to give you the same baggage allowance as your US carrier.

Airberlin is a OW partner on 3/20 so then your status may matter, but if you travel in the next 5 weeks, PLT is irrelevant.

I said June in my first post, but travel is actually in early July.:)
Also, regarding the "US carrier" part of this, there is no US carrier on this itinerary. It is Air Berlin for both flights, VCE-BER (overnight)-morning flight to LAX
