Is VS having financial difficulties?

BA makes some of its staff pay, is it in financial difficulties?

I believe most airlines in the UK require you to pay for your own criminal record check in customer facing roles at least. As until you have completed your CRC your employment with the company is not 100% confirmed.

Once you have cleared your criminal record check then everything else is paid for at Virgin, BA, BMI etc

ie Training, US Visa's Uniforms etc etc

However....

In comparison Easyjet make their staff pay for the uniform and have it bonded....

Jet2 even make their cabin crew pay for their own training!

I don't think it is unreasonable and would happily pay it if I was offered a job and that was the only hurdle.

I don't think it is unreasonable.I think it is. Should prospective employees pay a fee to cover the cost to HR of considering their application and interviewing them while we are at it? The increasing gap in how low-level and high-level employees are treated by an increasing number of employers is becoming, frankly, obscene but we are going OT.

FWIW we agree on this. Absolutely ridiculous and sickens me immensely.

I agree also. I would be very unlikely to consider an employer who pulled this one on me. Luckily, my skill set enables me to.
