SAS EuroBonus - A log of an erratic SK week ;)
4 segments this week.
Day one: change of CRJ to MD82 (thank you SK, I hate CRJs)
Day two morning: change of CRJ to MD82 (that's nice again!).
Day two evening: change of MD82 to A321. Flying huge A321 with about 30 pax on a domestic route in DK felt pretty weird, so I expected a 747 on day three when approaching Kastrup for my WAW flight ;)
Day three: But instead there was a change to a wet lease from Cimber, on a tiny tiny CRJ with obvious LH interior. I hate hate those CRJs, and the old ones that Cimber has are even worse than those of SK. But flying Y, I was even more sorry for the two guys that paid C class tickets for this flight. One FA for a full flight of 50 pax in three classes. You do not get much service. A boxed meal that looks remotely as economy on some airlines not so long ago...
Sounds like SK logistics had a busy week changing their aircraft allocations. Let's if they are equally capricious next week. Four segments on my calendar again.

Hmm. I find the CRJ 900 (SAS’) a great aircraft. Very quit, nice behavior and the windows are high up – better view than from a 737. You can’t blame a small A/C for being small;)
Cimber’s CRJ 200 is a quite different story.

I totally agree! The CRJ 900's always makes me happy, since they're so quiet and at the same time they ascend so quickly that the fasten seat belt signs turn off amazingly fast.
I would prefer a CRJ900 any day to a MD8[0-2].

I agree on this - on short hauls the CRJ900 - Row 17 is perfect (Exit Row). Plenty of leg room and a quiet flight. Even better sitting there than on Y+ with standard leg room.

I agree the Cimber (sas) are not what I expect paying premium to fly with a legacy carrier. Often I connect in MUC going to CPH late and it's one of those planes...

But in row 1-3, it's so freaking quiet, can't even hear if the engines are on or not. But I agree, the legroom is much better on row 17. I was on a CRJ900 on 17C yesterday, right now on my way to BGO to fly CRJ900 in 1C. :-)

I much more prefer the Embraer 170 family. They are in the same size class as CRJ 900, but just a little bit bigger, so that
1. boarding from jetway is possible
2. no need to leave my carry on outside the aircraft (CRJ900 locker is ca. 2 cms too shallow).
3. And enough higher entrace, so that I do not hit my head when I enter.
Even though CRJ 900 have very elegant cabin design (with SK) and they do actually lookvery cool, IMHO the functionality suffers, they feel very cramped. A little bit too small in every aspect.

I agree on the boarding, kind of sucks. I always have small carry-on so that's no problem for me. I'm quite tall as well but I have working knees. When sitting in the CRJ 900's they are very spacious which is more important to me than the minute or so that you spend not sitting in the plane. The trade off is more than reasonable for me.
Embraer just feels old :)
