Hi Flyertalkers ;)

British airways allows me (in economy class) a carry on of 23kilos and a check in baggage of 23 kilos whereas Kingfishers allows 2 luggages of 23 kilos.

Will I have to pay excess baggage if I have the carry on luggage allowed by British airwaysor vice versa which is another check in baggage of 23kilos (allowd by kf) ?

I read other threads but i still think it's a lil bit complicated

Thanks in advance for your replies :D

Are you sure BA allows 23 kg of carry on? I have never heard of such a high carry on allowance.

Yes! They do. But you must be able to lift it yourself un-assisted.

Yeah I know about that, it's ok I am a strong girl. LOL

My main concern is will Kingfisher make me pay the excess baggage because they only allow 7kilos on flight.

you will be extremely unlucky if kingfisher weighs your carry on bag....they don't usually do this unless the bag looks big & heavy....

I am incredulous of carry on allowance being 23 Kg,. It will be hard to pack a carry on with 50 pounds of weigh with normal stuff one packs in a carry one.

Yeah even I think it's kinda weird but that's what they stated on their website.
I'll try to stuff it with 15 kilos and then we'll see what happen with kingfisher @:-)

On my last trip, my checked luggage was carry on size. I packed my toiletries, clothes, cables/accessories for laptop, camera, an extra cellphone, in it and it weighed 8 Kg. Is the 23 g allowance restricted in physical size?

Size and weight of free baggage allowances

How large can my bag be?

The maximum dimensions of the bag are:

90cm x 75cm x 43cm (35.5in x 29.5in x 16 in), including the handle, pockets and wheels.

What to do with larger/bulky items
You may take bags up to the dimensions 190cm x 75cm x 65cm (75in x 29.5in x 25.5in), including the handle, pockets and wheels.

Any bags carried in addition to your free checked baggage allowance will incur an extra bag charge.
A heavy bag charge may apply to bags over 23kg (51lb).

(from british airways website) :)
