India - December in Bangalore or Kerala

I will spend Xmas and New Year in S India. My flights are through Bangalore and I am booked for 3 nights on the Oberoi boat in the Kerala backwaters.
After that I have 5 days and want total relaxation, not too many kids, great pool and cloudless skies ... and as few Mosquitos as possible.
Should I stay by the coast in Kerala or in the city in Bangalore ...I am not interested in being a tourist.

Kerala I am told has better weather but the hotels are full of families and Mosquitos ... Bangalore I know well but is the weather likely to be good at Xmas, cloudless skies?

its been a while since i was in bangalore around christmas time (i'm actually typing this from bangalore though) but if i remember correctly the weather is quite nice that time of the year....but kerela would definitely be my first choice out of the two....

I say Bangalore if you don't want to be a tourist.
