Stayed at this hotel in mid May. They had a flyer out for the hotel restaurant offering 25 Hilton Points per $1 if you ate there. Seemed like a pretty good deal so took one of the flyers and when we ordered gave the waiter the flyer and our Gold Card. He needed to check on it and when he returned let us know that it was taken care of. He didn't return the flyer and of course we didn't get the points credited to our account. I finally called Hilton Honors and a very nice CSR took all the information and said she would check into it and would email me back with what she found out. A couple of days later she was good to her word. The HOTEL totally denied that there was any such promotion The CSR credited my account with the 10 points I would have gotten if billed to my room which was all she could do without some proof of the offer, like the flyer that the waiter kept.
So heads up if you stay at this hotel and they have any kind of promos make sure you get and keep a printed copy of same.

The flyer is still there for this promotion.

Apart from the dodgy meal promotion, what was the hotel like?

Stayed at the DT Eugene a few months ago before it switch names. I went over to the H to check it out. The H is in a good location near the downtown. If you are staying in Eugene at a H property, this is the one. Not the Hampton.

Just spent 3 nights at the Eugene Hilton this past weekend.

Pluses: easy free covered parking
Great Staff
25 points per $ in the rest was still advertised and recommended by the front desk staff as well...
Was put on the concierge floor
Free internet in the concierge library
Room & Bed was very comfortable

MInuses:
Free breakfast was really stingy... I would much rather get the breakfast coupons than get the bare bones continental in the lounge (especially when I can go to a Hilton Garden Inn and get omelets made to order...)
had to pay for drinks in the evening as well...
The AC couldn't keep up with the 95 degree weather outside

I didn't eat in the hotel other than breakfast. there is a great brew pub (The steel? something) just a few blocks walk. Great beer and great pub grub as well.
Our other meals at "recommended' restaurants were disappointing. In particular run away from the Mona Lizza.

Good to hear. The free parking is definitely a big plus.

As I'll be there on a priceline stay (US$37/night), I may not be getting Gold privileges anyhow, so I don't know if breakfast/etc will matter to me.

Staying at the Hilton EUG next week 9/16. Gotta agree w/ the comments on the Hampton EUG, stayed there in July after the DT was closed (no one told me, showed up at the hotel and it was a Clarion....sweet...not). First time I've ever used the refund guarantee after over 300 stays in the past six years. The place was severly lacking, couldn't wait to beat feet outta there.

OK, so here I am. Got a nice little welcome amenity (peanuts, granola bar, pack of life savers) and lounge access. Got a suite upgrade on the 8th floor with a small balcony, two TV's, real nice room. After comparing this to the Hampton Inn Eugene, this in the only place for HH people in Eugene. BTW, I'm in the concierge lounge now, microbrews are a measly $3, which I don't think is too bad. Snacks are nice & free. The hi speed internet is free, but you need your own laptop for access.

Four of the 5 guys in here laughed when another guy walked in and mentioned the Hampton Eugene; seems like more than one of us has been there before & learned our lesson.

The 25 pts/$ at the restaurant offer is still on. My stay has posted as a total of 0 points. (It was a Priceline stay.)

Did any of you ever end up getting the 25 pts/$ restaurant bonus?

Thank god they took the Doubletree off that Eugene property... it was pitiful! It seemed like a converted apartment complex... not at all what I want from a hotel. Exterior entry properties are "motels" not "hotels" and certainly don't belong in the Hilton family.

(Now if we could just get the Doubletree "Motel" in Bellevue, WA rebranded.... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif)

Been there lately? It is now a Ramada.
the bigger newer one to the South is still a Doubletree but the one to the North converted to Ramada a couple of months ago.
