Turns out both JDiver and I will be in London simaltaneously this Friday, February 3.
Looking to see who wants a meetup at a pub after work (I guess some FTers do that)
JDiver is staying a Paddington Hilton and I will be out in the suburbs but can make it anywhere.
Suggestions welcome.

Indeed! It would be a pleasure if anyone is up for it; a gastropub might even be better, given the time and all. Suggestions for which Tube always appreciated. Come on, come all, even if it is a short advance.

Could likely make this. Have one of those work-related ("you need to make an appearance") drinks things right after work that shouldn't take long, and could gladly enjoy the "I've got American friends in town" excuse to pop out early.
A post on the BA and/or BMI boards (perhaps not that you're AA, but just FTer's in town.... :) ) might garner a few takers as well.

So, the center of the world moves from DFW/ORD/SFO/LAX to LHR? ;)

My guess is if you get someone in BA, BMI, VA to point in their forums to this thread you might get some takers. My understanding is the Brits rarely read CommunityBuzz for get-togethers, but instead their own forums.
* Please note I am not advocating cross-posting :p :D
Have a good time! I'll miss you by a week. Will be there Feb 10-20.
Cheers.

I have no idea why you think that - one of us is from a minor AA outpost and the other has no local airport. ;)
Of course, we are relegated o the idea that if we die suddenly, we will have to go to DFW to receive instructions for the next phase of our extra-corporeal existence... ;)
Thanks, Sharon; I'll check with the BAEC mods about the local protocol - HSBC says local knowledge is important. :D

I'd love to stop by, but am at a show at the Barbican that evening from 7:30, not sure until when, so depending on time/location, I'm in. I'm also available early, for that first drink.
... available early, for that first drink.
Ditto. Ms mia and I have theatre tickets for 19:30 in NW1. If the meet were near Paddington Station we could stay until, say, 18:30. Otherwise we would need to leave earlier.

I'm not a Brit but I live in the UK... where does that leave me?!?! :)
I'm thinking of heading into London Friday evening.
The V&A Museum (very central, on the Tube) is havign FREE live jazz. Just a thought, since that's where I was thinking about heading. :)

Starts at 8pm in the cafe. Food served there til 9.30pm.
Hi All,
I may be able to make it down to London as well once you set a plan! It'd be great to meet some fellow FT'ers!
:)robin
I'm going to eave it up to the Londoners to choose - will be flying out Thursday and arriving Friday afternoon and will check FT at the LHR Arrivals Lounge before boarding Heathrow Connect for Paddington.
What MIA says is OK, but there may yet be others not heard from. We kind of tossed the idea at the last minute because we realized our paths would intersect - I am taking the short route, SMF-LAX-LHR; magic111, who lives within 100 of me, arrived via, er, NRT-DFW-LHR (well, why not? more miles, still only one SWU!)
:( I most sincerely hope this DO came together. Did you all meet up with Jim?
Yes, we did, and I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to see Jim, as well as the others.
