Hi,

I have a reward ticket that has a flight LIM-EZE departing 12:55 and we will be coming from CUZ which I am just looing at booking on another reward ticket.

There seems to be a flight at 8:10 getting in at 9:30 or a 9:10 getting in at 10:30 and I was not sure how much time I should leave. I assume as its a domestic flight first we will be pretty much off the plane and through security to international departures but I wondered as the flights are on 2 tickets will they check the bags from CUZ to EZE or will we have to collect in LIM. I dont know if it would make any difference but also OneWorld Emerald and travelling LIM-EZE in Business.

I would prefer the 9:10 flight as its not as early a start but dont want to leave ourselves short of time in LIM!

Thanks in advance!

There are flights almost every 30 minutes from CUZ-LIM. I am doing the following.

30 May - CUZ-LIM - LA 2115 Dep 0945 Arr 1110
30 May - LIM-EZE - LA 4641 Dep 1255 Arr 1915

As for checking bags. LAN will probably check the bags through but... since you have two separate tickets you should try to double check prior to your flight.

OW status seems to matter very little to LAN. Sure your boarding pass will say Preferente but it does not provide access to preferred seats.

I did something similar end of Dec. CUZ-LIM-SCL. LONG story but LIM-SCL was an award ticket (thanks to BA miles)- CUZ-LIM was paid ticket (thanks to TACA being horrible).

At CUZ- they checked in our bags through SCL which was nice. so i would assume they can for you as well.

One note- weather out of CUZ can get worse as the day goes on. We took the earlier flight just to give us more space for weather or other delays. Of course we landed a few minutes early in CUZ but we didnt want to take the chance to miss our flight to SCL.

Have a wonderful time!

Thank you for your replys, they were really helpful and I will book the 9:10 flight as it still gives us over 2hours30 at LIM.

Out of interest any suggestions on hotels near CUZ airport for the night before the flight?

Thanks again

I think the airport in Cuzco is quite close to downtown anyway, so you won't be very far where ever you stay.

I thought Preferente just means Priority Boarding, just like Priority Access on AA boarding passes. Any generally speaking you do get priority boarding, as well as business class check in and lounge access. Not sure what else you should get.

We stayed right downtown (Novotel), and the taxi to the airport was ~20 mins, max.

Yes the airport is very close to the "downtown" check in can be quite hectic since there are so many flights so close together but it all works out.

We stayed in a very nice hostel which gave us a ride to the airport (and a great breakfast). It is the Wayki hostel- can find them at http://www.waykitrek.net/ great trekking/touring company. Hope it helps!
