West - utah ski advice

looking to spend a couple of days in utah to ski a bit during presidents day weekend... will get into slc around noon on the 18th and leave early on the 20th... where would y'all recommend? my friend in slc recommends brighton, but i've also heard good things about park city? both of us are novice skiers...

also, any lodging recommendations for either place? i saw that brighton lodge is right on next to the lifts, but the reviews from 09 says that it's pretty run down... any newer experiences?

I'd recommend Solitude and Alta. Last I knew, Alta was one of the two areas in the US that was skiers only and Brighton was mostly snowboarders.
