I believe that to TLV it is only twice a week and I believe Israir flies this route also.

Not sure but AF USED only to fly internationally from Paris thats why it is quite big news (like BA that only flies from LON)
very useful and NCE can cater for quite a few people in NW Italy
fares OK as well^

Heheh - are they copying AZ now (using multiple airports for international operations), the rascals? :D

The first one to open was Marseille last year. In the Eastern mediterranean basin, AF serves IST, ATH and BEY from MRS. From April, they will add TLV, ATH and IST from NCE as well as ATH and IST from TLS.
Note that, from NCE, many of these new routes have low frequencies and are not daily services. NCE-TLV, for instance, is only 3-weekly on Weds, Sats and Suns.

When I fly NCE - LHR with BA - flights always PACKED (also in J), with summer schedule of up to 8 /9 flights a day + BD that ply the route I always asked myself how AF could leave this cash pot
This could open up quite a few routes (and might hurt MXP..)
