Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Swiss Internat. air's calling center in Fiji

I called Swiss's US toll free number to book 2 flights, and was connected to Fiji??

The first agent could't understand English so I had to call back. There was a long series of errors in the booking, and over 10 days I called 14 times.

What kind of errors?

When billing, they failed to ask for the security code on the back of the CC, but didn't bother to contact me by e mail. Days of delay as I waited for confirmation. Then they misspelled hotmail.com and I didn't receive the confirmation. More calls. Fiji.

Then I finally get the confirmation and look at the billing, and Swiss charged me $250 service charge (for talking to Fiji) instead of $20.

Is this a scam or gross incompetence? I've tried repeatedly to talk to a person at Swiss and so far got one response to a fax I sent to Basel. :( Customers can only talk to Fiji?

Swiss is a Lufthansa subsidiary.

I find it far easier to book online, but this kind of thing happens the bigger the business gets. I'm a little surprised that Fijians had a problem with English?

Must say you're patient, I would have given up after the 2nd call!
