ANYBODY KNOW IF THE PARIS has an airport shuttle from the airport to the hotel? ayodeji13 Jan 28, 12, 10:41 pm Im almost positive no. Although if you call the casino and say your a high roller or something you might get a limo :-) RevJim Jan 29, 12, 12:01 am Yeah pretty much none of the strip hotels have a free airport shuttle. It seems like they should, but they don't. There is a list of paid Las Vegas airport shuttles here (http://www.mccarran.com/03_Shuttles_01.aspx). If you really want to use a shuttle I would recommend a 1-way only, and take a taxi going back. It's easy to get the shuttle leaving the airport, but a lot of times going backward it can take a long time to get your shuttle (call them and wait by the hotel reception area?) Or just take a taxi both ways, it might cost $15 each way, roughly. As ayodeji13 said, high rollers get a different level of service. If you gamble a bunch be sure and call your host for a pickup. Kooler Jan 29, 12, 12:13 am revjim- is renting a car in vegas not the best idea? There basically by myself for 5 days.. :-( The _Banking_Scot Jan 29, 12, 2:14 am Hi Kooler, If you are going to spend all of your time on the strip ( going to the strip hotel/casinos for the buffetts, shows or just to look around) then you probably do not need a car. ( traffic on the strip can be very slow but there are other roads that can be used) Paris Las Vegas is in a pretty good location very close to the Bellagio fountains, the Citycentre complex and the Planet Hollywood and the Miracle Mile shops. If you are going outside Las Vegas to sightsee ( ie Red rock canyon, Mt Charleston, Valley of Fire) then a car is useful ( although there are tour companies also) Valet parking at the casinos is free ( just tip a few bucks when picking up the car) Regards TBS Non-NonRev Jan 29, 12, 3:17 am Wirelessly posted (Nokia E71-2: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.2; U; Series60/3.1 NokiaE71-2/200.21.118; Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413) As TBS states, a rental car is not needed for Strip-focused stays. You certainly have the option to do a one-day rental at your hotel to allow a visit to Red Rock (recommended), and/or to visit the Outlet shopping centers, etc. sonofzeus Jan 29, 12, 5:59 am is renting a car in vegas not the best idea? We always rent a car in Vegas...and stay off strip. @:-) RevJim Jan 29, 12, 9:11 am revjim- is renting a car in vegas not the best idea? There basically by myself for 5 days.. :-( Personally, I always get a car because even though I stay on the strip, I come from out of the country so I have lots of errands to run, business to do, shopping to do (Walmart type shopping, not the glamorous stuff). And once I have a car, I find it refreshing to go out and eat anywhere but the casinos every now and then. IMHO the #1 attraction in Las Vegas is a Capriotti's Sandwich Shop (http://www.capriottis.com/) (yeah I know I'm in the minority!) If I had to take a taxi to all that stuff it would cost way too much. But for most people, if you are staying on the strip, you won't need a rental car for anything. There are so many terrific things to see and eat that your rental car will sit and collect dust. If something important comes up and you need to get off the strip, there are taxis everywhere and they are generally quite honest. Paris Las Vegas is smack dab in the middle of everything, so I suspect you will not want a rental car for anything. If you are looking for a cheap, fast, yummy sandwich, walk down to Planet Hollywood and order a sandwich from Earl of Sandwich (http://www.yelp.com/biz/earl-of-sandwich-las-vegas). It's on the casino floor to the right as you walk in from the street. formeraa Jan 31, 12, 8:51 pm Yeah pretty much none of the strip hotels have a free airport shuttle. I stayed at Harrah's last weekend. They have a dedicated $7 shuttle from the hotel to the airport. AFAIK, it only runs one-way, but it was nice to not drive around for 30 minutes before going to the airport. Since Paris is co-owned, I would call Paris and ask if they have a dedicated paid shuttle -- it can't hurt. baccarat_king Feb 1, 12, 2:05 am Im almost positive no. (decent mid-roller though...) Yankeeflyer Feb 1, 12, 7:18 pm I stayed at Harrah's last weekend. They have a dedicated $7 shuttle from the hotel to the airport. Never heard of such a thing. In fact, strip hotels have long been prohibited from offering a private shuttle to/from the airport. thebat Feb 2, 12, 7:47 am I stayed at Harrah's last weekend. If they have a full shuttle, it would be 'dedicated.' otherwise, it's just another stop. If you have two or more, take a cab. Expense is about the same and MUCH more convenient. Dovster Feb 4, 12, 3:02 am Paris Las Vegas always sends a limo for me, and I 'ain't no high roller.' (decent mid-roller though...) I am a low roller. Can I get Paris Las Vegas to send a rickshaw to pick me up? Actually, I was very surprised to find that my flight there is almost full -- and it is 20 days out. Out of 150 seats in Y, all aisle seats are taken, only 5 window seats are available, and 22 middle seats are still open. True, in FC, 20 of the 24 seats are not yet assigned, but as a Delta GM I figure my chances of getting an upgrade run from slim to none. The flight is on Friday, Feb 24, from ATL. Is this normal or is there especially heavy traffic on that date? Kooler Feb 4, 12, 9:53 am I am giving a Summit 3/26-3/30 and I still have not purchased my Delta Ticket. so the Delta GM, any suggestions on trying to get an upgrade? You're flying from SLC? You're not going to get an upgrade unless you pay for it. They will have the seats available for upgrade at the gate. If it's only an hour or so flight time, why waste the money or miles? Without Medallion status, no free upgrade, they put the status people upfront. I'm not sure Paris has a shuttle. aamilesslave Feb 4, 12, 7:13 pm Is the Paris Shuttle only going from to the Paris or did you take it back to the airport? There is some terrible mis-information on FT on this subject as of late. No major hotel-casino in Las Vegas has an airport shuttle. There are private shuttles that make multiple stops to a group of hotels....so it can take a bit longer than a taxi. On the return, you must make a reservation and head to the airport way too early. The shuttles FROM MCCARRAN AIRPORT are a decent deal for one person if not in a hurry. For 2+ people, take a cab. And I would always recommend a taxi back to the airport unless you are solo and have an extra 1-2 hour to kill. My recommendation for returning to the airport: look for other solo travelers or young couples in the taxi line and ask if they want to split a cab to the airport. Kooler Feb 4, 12, 8:08 pm what is FT? So the people that said this hotel has a shuttle just made that up? that is not very nice. I would be looking all over the place for the shuttle phones or something that says "Paris FREE Shuttle" on the front of the bus. formeraa Feb 4, 12, 10:46 pm This sounds like Bell trans or AWG service. There were only 4 of us on the shuttle, which departed from the taxi area at Harrah's (rather than having to take the longer walk to the shuttle area). A Harrah's bellman happened to mention it as I was talking to him. The shuttle bus didn't have any markings on the side, but was similar to those used by the shuttle services. It is probably a "charter" shuttle operated by one of the shuttle companies on Harrah's behalf. My friend stayed an extra night and took the same shuttle the next day. So, it definitely exists. formeraa Feb 4, 12, 10:50 pm what is FT? So the people that said this hotel has a shuttle just made that up? that is not very nice. If I am by myself and I'm paying, I take one of the $7 shuttle buses. You have a choice of several different companies and they all cost about $7. The shuttle do make several stops -- it could take 30 minutes to get to your hotel after you leave the airpor. So, it definitely exists. A "charter" shuttle. Now you're definitely winging it. To the OP, Paris does NOT have an airport shuttle. Multiple people have explained that to you multiple times, so I'm not sure why you are confused by the hallucinations of a sole person at a different hotel. If, however, you remain confused and uncertain, why don't you pick up the phone and call them? Kooler Feb 5, 12, 11:58 am I tried to reach the Paris with no success. the wait for a reservation agent was like 20 minutes so things are filling up. I will ask them. they should know for sure if they can get me from the airport to their hotel hotel via their shuttle don't you think? Dovster Feb 5, 12, 12:05 pm Do you realize that you are spending all this time and effort in the hopes of avoiding paying $13 for a taxi? If that money is a problem for you, then you can't afford five minutes at the hotel's slots.
