Hilton HHonors - "New" HGI coming to Dallas (Market Center area)

Noticed that there's a banner up on a hotel at I-35 and Wycliff Ave (just north of the Wyndham Anatole) announcing that a Hilton Garden Inn is coming to that location. I think the building was formerly either a Wilson World or Ramada or something along those lines so hopefully major renovations will be done to get the place up to HGI standards.

Let's hope that the majority of HGI's remain brand-new construction rather than rebranding of tired old buildings. Don't want the Hilton Garden Inn brand to become the Four Points of the Hilton family!

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago -- not sure how it was before, but the lobby is very clean and nicely furnished (definitely looks refurbished). Rooms are also clean, though some aspects (bathroom fixtures) are a bit dated.

As a Diamond, got my bonus points and breakfast coupons. Breakfast was spotty -- one morning it was great, and the following morning, the cooked items were served cold.

I haven't stayed at many HGIs, but other than breakfast, thought it was pretty good. ^

I stayed here a couple of years ago - I think it was Dec 2004, so it probably was quite new then - but I thought it was a fine hotel. The breakfast was good the day I was there. :)
