I will be traveling on AF in the Affaires cabin this March and am wondering if anyone has photos of the AF/KLM lounge in the International terminal of LAX. I cannot seem to find any photos of the lounge online and have never flown AF from LAX before so I would like to get a picture of what the lounge looks like.
If anyone has photos please post them, message me, or direct me to a post that has some (new to FlyerTalk). Thanks! :)

Are you aware that AF (ex-NW) lounge in T2 of LAX is the worst lounge ever ? at least in their North American network. So I'm not sure it worths to take pictures of it !
You will find many posts in the Flying Blue / Air France forum about this crappy lounge.

That sucks but good to know! I will just use one of the other lounges? Any suggestions of which is best at LAX that Air France Affaires and Priority Pass holders can use?
Merci

I'm afraid there's no other lounge you can use at T2.

I have no
experience going that lounge, but my son, an Airbus engineer and frquent flyer, had a tripo to visit some plants and had visited the AF lounge at LAX. He shared his very bad comments. For example, he was suprosed to find they offer MUM Champagne....but the bottles were empty and was nobody near to clean the place. This bad impression was erased by the quality of his flight in business back to CDG.

Beginning in May, Air France will fly with theire A380 to Los Angeles and they have to use Terminal B (Tom Bradley International) instead Terminal 2.
But what for a Lounge can the Affaires-Class passengers of Air France use in this "Tom Bradley International" Terminal?

There is a Korean/SkyTeam lounge in TBIT. It is fine, but nothing special. I've got photos of it somewhere but cannot find them right now.

That sounds good! Because the Air France Lounge in Terminal 2 has almost only bad reviews. So it's positv for me that the AF A380 uses TBIT and I can use the Korean Lounge.. :)

I have used the AF lounge in T2 quite a few times when flying KLM out of LAX. Yes, the offerings are not the best compared to other international lounges, but probably alright compared to other lounges within the US. The main problem is in my opinion that it can be very cowed when both the KL and AF flights leave around the same time.
So will AF completely move to TBIT? What about KLM? Any insights?

When AF was using TBIT, they had their own lounge close to the KE lounge. So, hopefully, they will re-open a facility there.

I think the flight with the A380 is only during the summer!?
So there would be no need for a "Air France Only"-Lounge.

I have an October trip on AF from LAX and it is showing the A380 both ways. With the completion of the expansion of TBIT not far away this will add several more 380 gates. It is possible that AF intends to move it's ops from
T2 to TBIT. One can only hope that AF will make a new home in TBIT and build a new lounge. The down side would be having to traverse TBIT. I find
T2 very easy to get in and out of.

I'm arriving in T2 next week off of the KL flight - how is passport and customs control there? Got a connecting DL flight, so I hope the lines are not too long.

To address the lounge situation for the earlier posting. YECH!!! One of the worst I have been in. Kind of ranks up with the VIP Lounge in Nairobi.:td:
If you are arriving on KL around 12:30 in the afternoon you will have absolutely no problem. I was in business class last week and I was off the plane, picked up luggage and to my car in less than 30 minutes. No other international flights arrive at that time. wonderful. ^

I rather hang out at Burger King than the T2 AF lounge. Much more cosier!

If you are one of the first off the plane, around 10 minutes to clear. Really depends on your position on the aircraft and how many other flights are landing at the same time. I have gotten through in 10 minutes and if really full around an hour. Remember you have to go from T2 to T5 for your DL flight. You can take the free shuttle around the airport or just walk across the parking lots to T5. You will have to clear security again when you enter
T5.

Here is a still shot from a video I took of my recent trip to Europe. This image is a still shot from the video, sorry for the poor quality. Taken on 1 February 2012. I was flying AF 65 (LAX-CDG).
I admit, this lounge is quite poor! I've used this lounge many times, whether flying KLM or AF....one expects more from a business lounge! This is in need of a remodel, however, I cannot think of any additional space. This lounge also lacks food options....I only saw cookies and crackers. There was a decent selection of wines, champagne and some liquor.

I haven't been in this lounge since it is purely AF but I can tell, based on this picture, that it looks much better than the absolute crap it was at the time of NW :p

It may look a little better, but still the same poor food and drink selection. Also, last time I was in (November) I commented on the new chairs and was told "they may look good, but are horrible to sit in". She was right. Very uncomfortable. Really wish AF would do nice remodel.

The lounge looks better than my last visit as well. Passing through tomorrow afternoon. Are there adequate plugs? Should I consider bringing a power strip to make a few new friends?

Depends on the time of day. Bring one to be sure and make new friends. :)

I have a question re: this lounge as well - I am flying on AZ out of T2 - is there a way to get access to the AF lounge - even though it sucks? Because of other arrangements I am going to be at LAX for awhile before my flight, so at that point, a crappy lounge is better than no lounge at all - especially in T2.
Oh yeah, I am a SM Skymiles and Skyclub member if that helps.

If you're flying "Magnifica Class" then you'll have access. Also, if you are a Skyteam Elite Plus member, you'll have lounge access. Are you a DL Diamond, Plat or Gold? If you are any of those, you'll be fine.

Flying Y+ - Alitalia won't let you use Skymiles to upgrade so I am screwed there. Only an SM as well. sounds like I am out of luck.

Perhaps not. If you have an AmEx Platinum you should get a free Priority Pass membership that will get you lounge access at T2.

You can buy the full Priority Pass program for about $130 per year and $30 per lounge visit. This plan also gets you into the UA lounges. The T2 AF lounge and also the AC Maple Leaf lounge in T2 are in PP so that you could use either after going through security at T2. If you have a long connection, will this be a problem--i.e., will you have boarding passes or need to visit the AF check in counter, which might not open until about three hours before your flight.
TBIT has a bunch of shops and food vendors land side. There's also a bar/restaurant located at the top of the iconic high structure in the center of the airport, sort of in the middle of the parking garages. Finally, many here are fans of In and Out burgers and plane spotting from under the landing paths there.

No personal knowledge, but I would be very surprised if it were other than the SkyTeam lounge operated by KE. Whe TBIT was renovated, the idea was supposed to be that each alliance would have a joint lounge, located to the right of the central area, on top of each other and sharing an elevator.

Using PP, I noticed that the Air Canada lounge closes around lunch time (before the AF/KL flights leave)...is that to prevent pax from using that lounge or do they just not have flights at that time.
It's been awhile since I have used the AF lounge (used to use it when it was NW)...is it just packaged snacks? Bottles of water that can be taken on board?

It is certainly not for this reason, as you are not entitled to use AC lounge when flying AF/KL. They are even not in the same alliance !
So we can reasonably suppose the answer is the 2nd you gave, i.e. AC has no flight after their lounge closes.

Obviously the A380 departs from TBIT terminal and NOT T2.
For Biz Class or SkyTeam Elite+ you do get access to the Business side of the KE/SkyTeam lounge. Its better than the T2 lounge but only by a little because it's fairly new construction. It's not worth arriving extra early for. Limited alcohol, no champagne. No views.
For First/La Premiere you are escorted to the One World First lounge which is very nice. Hot food buffet, various types of seating. Although also no views.

No more champagne in the LAX T2 lounge as of June 2012. Yes, the French airline no longer serves champagne in the lounge.
