Hilton HHonors - Miles/Points revoked

Since this question comes up frequently. Did anyone actually ever have points/miles revoked after canceling a credit card? I am not talking about pending monthly miles which may go away but the initial bonus you get.

I had two Hilton Visas because of a mixup. I cancelled the extra one and no points disappeared.

I must echo some other posts with empahsis. Once they hit your account, they are there to stay. Unless there is intervention from VERY high up.

However, owed points can easily disappear before posting.
