Hilton HHonors - 45 Day Hampton Inn CX at ABQ

I booked this for 10/3 for one night then found something better the Hilton ABQ for the same rate last night, do you think I can get out of the original reservation at the Hampton? Would I be better calling the Hampton Directly or the diamond line?

IF the original reservation was done online, you can cancel it online, unless some of the conditions were requesting you to cancel 2-3-4 days before arrival. Then I would call the Hampton directly.

I do it all the time, I always secure a room at a good rate, then I do some shopping around and if I find better rates around, then I book the new one and cancel the first one.

FWIW, the HGI at ABQ was quite nice.

I agree this is a nice HGI but the HGI that same night, was almost double what I am paying at the Hilton and/or Hampton Inn. Rates are outrageous starting around the 2nd of Oct through the 10th or so due to Balloon Fest.
