I know that the first row in Business (and Economy Extra as well) are blocked to enable basinettes to be placed there, but does anyone know how close to departure they are released to anybody not flying with infants?
SAS EuroBonus - Blocked seats on long haulView Full Version : Blocked seats on long haul Holloman Jan 26, 12, 11:21 pm I know that the first row in Business (and Economy Extra as well) are blocked to enable basinettes to be placed there, but does anyone know how close to departure they are released to anybody not flying with infants? KroFlyer Jan 27, 12, 1:32 am On the A330 seats 1A/1H, and 14A/14H are the only seats blocked prior to departure for passengers with infants. On the A340 seats 7A/7H can be used for passengers with infants as well - not sure if they are blocked, however. You should be able to access these seats if you are not travelling with an infant a few hours prior to departure at the airport. You can ask at check-in, at the gate, or in the lounge if it is possible to obtain these seats. Personally, I do not prefer 1A/1H unless I am travelling with family, as the fuselage narrows that far up front, and it can be a little tight up to the window and between the seat dividers and wall at seats 1A and 1H. Plus the storage space at the side of the seat is smaller. The tv screen is better placed however, as it pops out of the arm rest and is more at eye level, and you do have virually endless leg room. Row 2 is my personal favorite, as you are still very close to the front, and seats 2A/H are not hindered as much by the bend in the fuselage. Regardless of seat you should enjoy SK longhaul in C class. Happy travels! ClaesJ Jan 27, 12, 9:32 am To answer the original question, blocked bassinet seats become available at the OLCI deadline (T-22) and can then be claimed by anyone. My personal opinion: 2AB are great seats but I still prefer row 1 because of the extra legroom and because you can flip the secret level on the seat and make it more fully flat (see other threads on the forum). |
