What is the fastest way from to get from the main terminal to the Budget Terminal. Is a 2 hr connection safe?
If necessary, can you grab a cab?

A 2 hr connection is safe if you really have the two hours.

Yes, you can grab a cab but it is the most expensive way.

There are shuttles running from the main terminal and actually this has been asked before.

Anyway, have you booked your flights for the budget airline? if not, why don't you book airasia or jetstar which both fly from T1 although you have to claim baggage and go thru immigration again.

Only from the basement of T2, and it's a bit of a hike coupled with a steamy wait choking on exhaust in the basement car park, although the shuttle does run every ~10 min most of the time. If you're not familiar with Changi, it can easily take an hour to pass Immigration, get bags, take Skytrain to T2 (if you land in T1/T3), find the bus stop, wait for the bus and cross over to BT.

+1 for the recommendation to use Jetstar/AirAsia instead.

Thanks all. Changed carriers and arrive now at the main terminal. This way use of transit hotel is possible as well. Not sure, if that was doable, if arriving at night at budget terminal, with outgoing flight next morning, e.g. no boarding pass to enter transit area to begin with, if I understand this correctly.

fyi I just stayed at the airport myself when I arrived and the night before leaving. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza very nice palce and had no idea I was at an airport hotel, only negs was Lounge,Internet wasnt free. Its expensive so I used 25k in PC pts for each night

It was great being able to wake up in the morning had a 7:30am flight and I left my room at 6:05am and still had plenty of time to stop in the Lounge

I heard good things about the Crown Plaza as well. Smart to use points to avoid their high rate. Would be great they would offer a short-stay rate, e.g. like the 6 hrs block time at the Transit hotel.

What means of transportation did you use to/from the hotel?

if you mean into the city itself. I used the subway its 3.10 each way and you get back 1.00 for returning the card at the machine (cash only) was in SIN for 4 days and took 20 SGD out of an ATM at the airport and it was more then enough . the station is on the botom level of T3 under the Hotel, very convient, you leave the hotel back into the term and walk a few feet then by the slide on your left you make a U-turn towards your left and theres lifts and escalators down to the train

I walked to the hotel , landed at T3 and once thru Customs and in the arrival hall, just turn left and follow the signs , you dont need to exit the Term as the hotel has a ramp right into it. For leaving you take the hotels elevator to the 2nd floor and walk right into the Departure Hall

I didnt use it but the hotel has a nice pool , not for laps as there are pockets of trees all around in the middle of it a very relaxing place

the subway to/from SIN has its own extension so its a shuttle for 2 stops and you transfer there to another train into the city. depending on where you are heading either you will have to transfer again to another line or simply get out at say City Hall and walk everywhere from there.I transfererd since I was changing Hotels and didnt want to walk everywhere with my bags, otherwise the City Hall stop is very near The coloinal buildings and the CBD , China Town.

since my flight arrived after the trains/buses stopped running , and my departure was before they began running.Either I would have to spring for a taxi or stay at SIN. Since I already was in the city for 3 nights, felt the 25k was a bargain
