My wife and I will be traveling to Genoa next Christmas so we are starting to look at flights since we would like to use miles to upgrade to J. The way I see it there are three (3) viable options opened to us. 1. Fly into Nice on Delta and then have a car and driver take us to Genoa. 2. Fly into Milan on Delta and have a car and driver take us to Genoa or 3. Fly Alitalia into Rome with a connecting flight to Genoa. Which do you think is the best alternative or if I have overlooked another alternative please let me know. Thanks!!!

Fly into Milan and take the train (c. 90 minutes) from Milan to Genoa.

How long of a taxi ride is it from Malpensa to the train station?

Alitalia via Rome if it's just A to B.
If you want to seize the opportunity and enjoy your trip, then Delta to Nice + the car.

why don't you fly nyc-XXX-goa. if J=biz class, i think you should be able to get saver tickets for 200,000 total. i have had difficulty getting any seats with my delta miles, but find luftansa miles get me most anywhere.

Quickest/most efficient way from Malpensa to the city is also by train.

Taxi ride (depending on traffic) is an hour or so and costs c. 80EU.

In the Spring/Summer I would probably opt for the Nice/car hire option as it would be a beautiful drive.

Rome to Genoa via plane is fine.
