Canada - (Flight Centre) Travel Expo - YVR, YYC, YYZ

A Google ad on the side of my screen while doing some searches brought up an ad for a Travel Expo (http://www.flightcentre.ca/travelexpo/?utm_source=GDN&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=TravelExpoFeb12) (sponsored by Flight Centre) for YVR, YYC, and YYZ. All are in the month of Feb albeit on different dates.

Admission is free and they "promise" deals from airlines and hotels. I might consider going just to see what's there.

Yup. Lots of friends who found that out - first hand.

Finally got there on Sun, Feb 05 @ 9am. there were around 50+ ppl waiting in line already. The first 100 ppl will get a $100 discount voucher.

Got a promotion bag from flight centre, Win a cooler bag from lucky wheel (while gift last), someone got a carry-on suit case.

Booth: tonnes of info on destination which you wish to travel. 4 game booth (bonus if you win; rock climb/hockey/golf/ring into a can) + photo booth.

used my discount voucher for my cruise in Sep! good deal if you have something already in mind, otherwise their network is slow for searching deals^.

Yeah, they've been running these for a few years now. We've gone to a few of them in the past but weren't totally impressed so we didn't go down this year to check it out. We just found that the deals were only so-so and not enough to make us drop everything and book that day; though it's still better than a stick in the eye :), particularly the $100 for the first in. I dunno, maybe we weren't looking hard enough.

Good to see someone got something of it. Myself, I figured sleep was a more important commodity. ;)
