Hi,
I redeemed a kingfisher flight for my brother from Udaipur to Bangalore in mid February. The same is on a single PNR. He just got and email stating his first flight out of Udaipur is rescheduled so that he would not make it to the flight for Bangalore. On calling kingclub they are not offering any help.
Is my brother entitled to any support?
Does it make a difference that it isn't a revenue booking?
Thanks

An award booking is a revenue booking - the difference is that the currency used is miles, not Rupees.
Since it is considered a revenue booking, IT is theoretically responsible to rebook your brother onto another flight...
However, it's IT. Nothing is guaranteed right now.
Regardless of what happens, I'd make sure to have a backup - IT cancels a lot at the airport as well.

unfortunately with all of kingfisher's problems as of now i'm not surprised they won't do anything to help....it would be a good idea to cancel & book on another carrier....
I've had 2 award bookings cancelled in the past 3 months. They do NOTHING. They will refund the miles and the cash amount you paid for taxes and expect you to rebook yourself on whatever flight is available at prevailing prices.

That's too bad - Don't they even rebook in their own flights?
I have not had a cancellation / Rebooking incident with KF till now - Touchwood ;)
even with all the troubles, I would expect IT to show some class.. are they trying to erode any goodwill they might have with the customers..??? that would be the final nail in the coffin for them..

Final nail's been in there for a while now. It's just a matter of time now.

Well once it was a PNQ-GOI flight and they operate just one flight on this route so they couldn't really rebook. The second time was on a BLR-BOM flight and there was another flight after 3 hours but they claimed it was overbooked and couldn't do anything. Pathetic!

Hello everyone, regarding all these IT cancellations, is there a way to track the cancellation statistics, as in which sectors see what level of cancellation? I know of a couple of website that track flight data, but they didn't have much info on Indian domestic carriers. Wish to burn the remainder of my king miles on some domestic flying.. it'd help to know which sectors are relatively safer. Thanks.

No, because IT has been randomly inserting and deleting routes from its schedule - so you never know if your flight is cancelled or has ceased to exist... This also screws up on-time rates, because if a flight gets cancelled or delayed, IT can just say that the flight doesn't exist!

So my brother called up IT again and to his good fortune got a good agent who have him the option to move to an earlier Air India flight so that he makes the connection.
Instead he suggested the agent to move him to a direct flight from Udaipur to B'lore on IT only although that flight did not have redemption seats available, which they gladly did. He was just surprised that the agent did not suggest it as it would make more sense for IT to use their loads instead of paying Air India.

And that is one of the reasons why Kingfisher are in such a mess. They have clueless staff who in turn are managed by clueless middle managers who really do not give a toss about the airline. There is so much wastage at Kingfisher, the airline is bleeding to death as no one in middle management cares.
