Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs - TAM Mileage Credit When Transferred to Another Carrier

TAM decided to cancel a leg of my itinerary and not let me know till I got to the airport, and after some fussing put me on a GOL flight. Does anyone have any experience in getting my miles for that flight credited to my US account, as it was their mistake?
When this has happened with other carriers they usually credit me the miles, but the TAM representatives didn't seem to understand what I was asking.
Any suggestions?

You have to deal with the FF program where you want the miles credited to. If this is TAM Fidelidade, yes, they rarely understand more complicated situations. I have forfeited several flights credit to TAM because I don't have the patience to deal with them.
PS, I see you are talking about US account, you have to retro claim with them. Provide proof of the original ticket.
