Hawaii-based Airlines - HA/B6 partnership to be announced today (23 Jan 12)
Hawaiian and JetBlue are expected to announce interline and FF benefits for connections across LAX and JFK today. The deal comes on the heels of the recent announcement of new service by Hawaiian Airlines with the upcoming launch of non-stop service between New York’s JFK and Honolulu. While the Hawaiian service doesn’t start up until June, the deal will start sooner, with the carriers routing passengers via Los Angeles for one stop service on interline itineraries.
Full details are not yet known but the formal announcement is expected later today (http://boardingarea.com/blogs/thewanderingaramean/2012/01/jetblue-hawaiian-team-up-for-jfk-service/).

Smart decision for both carriers.
Smart decision for both carriers.
Agreed, at many levels. Though until the details are announced it is hard to know just how good it will be.

Hawaiian and JetBlue have reached a preliminary agreement to allow members of each carrier's frequent flyer program to earn and redeem loyalty points or miles for travel on either carrier. Under this agreement JetBlue's TrueBlue members will soon be able to accrue points on any Hawaiian-operated flight, while HawaiianMiles members will be able to earn miles on any JetBlue-operated flights. Similarly, frequent fliers will be able to redeem their points or miles for travel on either carrier's network, bringing new, much-requested destinations to each program's loyal members.
VERY nice, though still no real details.

Very excited about this, nice to be able to have a solid network to connect to for the east coast market.

This is a great deal for both.
Consumers benefit from Hawaiian's frequent flyer program - you can book the kids seats you buy to Hawaiian miles and then get their credit card and then move those miles to other family members under the miles sharing feature. That is worth it just by itself. You can actually use some of these miles. Adding Jet Blue ads a domestic partner to this - America West was a member until they went to US Airways.
Now if Hawaiian would just bring back the PDX-OGG route we'd be in excellent shape.

It's an excellent deal only if they actually have reasonable fares and convenient connections.
America West/Hawaiian was HORRID -- the schedules somewhat meshed, but the fares seemed to always be the sum of the two fares (which was MUCH higher than other carriers).
Now that HA is establishing a major hub at OGG, I'm sure they'll bring back the PDX flight.;) This is why an HA/AS hook-up would be good with HA flying the big planes on the high demand routes and AS flying the small planes on the thinner routes.

I am not talking connections on Hawaiian/America West; I am talking when flying America West domestically it worked to book the miles of my family members to their Hawaiian Miles accounts, which then allowed transfer of those miles to me. It worked. Will it work for Jet Blue? Not sure. We'll have to see. Nearly everything nationwide for us out of Portland on JetBlue forces us to route through New York in the middle of the night, so I am not sure how that will work. You can hit some places out west through Long Beach, but have minimal connection opportunities.
The plane for PDX-OGG was taken to the bay area, which, thinking about it really just sets up more connections to Hawaii for Jet Blue through the Bay Area; this could be part of a larger picture. Regardless, Hawaiian has no love for Portland, despite those flights were nearly always full.

Interlining...through LAX????? Ouch!!!!! HA and B6 share the same terminal (int'l) in SFO; a much more pleasant travel experience. And what are we really looking at here? An earn-and-burn scenario? Or something along the lines of
AA/B6?

yeah, I know but I only know the ua lingo. will miles flown on b6 qualify you for status?
Anyone have a guess on when JBU & HA will revamp their schedule to allow for the partnership ticketing?
I'll be traveling from PIT to JFK to catch HA 51 in July. Currently thinking Delta but would be much easier if JBU adds an early morning flight from PIT to JFK. Need to book in a few weeks.

Jet Blue will be a nice addition to the HA network. Let's hope there are fun award trips to be had in the near future.

The caveat at the bottom of this page on HA's website leads me to think the answer to your question is "no":
...applies to flights scheduled and operated by Hawaiian Airlines and does not apply to charter flights, airline partner flights, HawaiianMiles partners, or bonus miles.

Anybody have any idea when we'll be able to earn Hawaiian miles on JetBlue? I've got JetBlue flights booked for March 3.

There are few actual details announced yet, but it looks like the whole thing is related to HA's upcoming JFK service, which is scheduled to start in June. HA is trying to setup B6 as a feeder airline on the east coast. My guess is that flights in March will be too soon to take advantage of the new partnership.
Especially where mileage credit is the issue. They might each let elites from the other airline stand in their elite check-in by then. But setting up data feeds for mileage credit will take a while.

Intrigued by this HA/B6 setup. B6 is already partnered with LH and VS as a feeder carrier for TATL flights. It's interesting to see how this partnership will work for B6 operating as a feeder for HA flights in the westerly direction.
