Is anyone else experiencing a problem with the website? For example, I'm having trouble getting onto the "my rewards" and the "my profile" pages.

AirTran Airways A+ Rewards - Website issues - Airtran.comView Full Version : Website issues - Airtran.com BillyBaloney Jan 23, 12, 4:02 am Is anyone else experiencing a problem with the website? For example, I'm having trouble getting onto the "my rewards" and the "my profile" pages. ?? henryf Jan 23, 12, 6:24 am Definitely lots of funny business going on..I'd give it a few days to get resolved Last week, I complained about the price of a June 1 OW JAX-LGA flight that I was following going from $99 to $122 as I watched. This morning, the flight is priced at $400+ (OW). Check it out. On my anticipated travel dates, CO has a NS to EWR on a RJ for $235 RT. The assumption is that someone at FL got careless and loaded bogus ticket costs into the system. The expected outcome is that everything will be ironed out in a day or two. BillyBaloney Jan 23, 12, 6:33 am Just for kicks, I logged into my points dot com account, to see if my Airtran would "update." The points dot com was also having trouble accessing the website and it returned an error. So I guess they are updating or changing things around... PVDtoDEL Jan 23, 12, 9:17 am When in doubt, blame Southwest! mke9499 Jan 23, 12, 11:41 am I noticed problems, immediately following the schedule extension over the weekend. Flights that apparently have no seats booked are pricing out ridiculously high for Economy - in same cases more than BC. It's also very difficult to access my A+Rewards account. When I was finally able to get in, however, all of my credits and activity were gone. I am not able to "view my full account summary," either. It looks like they might be changing the format of some areas of the site. JAGorham Jan 23, 12, 12:06 pm I'm doing some headscratching too. ITA Software has a flight in September (the outer edge of what AirTran does) for BWI-MBJ nonstop (out 9/14, back 9/22) as an L fare, $169/person each way (plus taxes, of course). When I try to get the fare at Airtran's website, it gives me only the Y code for any MBJ fares, nonstop or otherwise (about $430/pp each way!!!). When I dial the dates back to May, I can get the L fare. It's definitely not because the plane is filling up in September!!! Only the usual blocked seats are unavailable then. Guess I just give them a few days to figure it out. mke9499 Jan 23, 12, 12:13 pm I am now getting the following Runtime Error: Server Error in '/APlus' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". bsenright Jan 23, 12, 2:22 pm well, i think everyone is fooling themselves if they think this is just a system issue at Airtran. this is clearly Airtran's way of avoiding a mass exodus of A+ Reward users booking reward travel before the move to SW benefits. Airtran could not just announce that "in 4 weeks, it will move to SW", for fear it will result in a stampede on rewards. So by shutting it down and blaming it on a system glinch, they can just keep it down until Feb 1 and say, "OK, your rewards are now with SW". It seems brutal to the costumer but in the end, its the best plan. tfc3rid Jan 23, 12, 2:51 pm Interestingly enough, I went to log on, all of my A+ Credits are GONE... I had about 20 credits in my account... Upon logging in right now, they are all gone... Logged onto Rapid Rewards, nothing there... Poof!!! EmoryFlyer Jan 23, 12, 3:11 pm me too...I'm sure it's just a glitch and we'll see our credits again shortly. bsenright Jan 23, 12, 3:16 pm The next time you see credits it will be on Southwest. Your airtran credits are history. Kind of a crappy way for Airtran to handle it since I really needed to get a flight this wednesday but they tell me on the phone there is nothing they can do which is a clear sign they are gone. If they weren't gone, they would be able to take my info down and get me the rewards flight I am asking for. But, I can see why airtran did it this way rather than setup for a collosal mess of people trying to use their rewards all at once. tfc3rid Jan 23, 12, 3:19 pm me too...I'm sure it's just a glitch and we'll see our credits again shortly. I'm hopeful they will show up again... mke9499 Jan 23, 12, 3:30 pm The next time you see credits it will be on Southwest. Your airtran credits are history. Servers are going through updating and system should be coming back up soon, hopefully, today. A+Rewards credits are not being moved to WN now - way too soon! RSVP Jan 23, 12, 4:30 pm A+Rewards credits are not being moved to WN now - way too soon! Mass hysteria for no reason. BillyBaloney Jan 23, 12, 6:17 pm I'm not trying to create hysteria, that is a job for Def Leppard (even though I can no longer hear them in flight). But that doesn't excuse the fact that I still cannot get into: 1. "my rewards" :( 2. "buy, transfer, or extend A+ credits" :( 3. "my profile" :( This is taking way too long for an update. Of course, this is just my opinion. mke9499 Jan 23, 12, 7:26 pm This is taking way too long for an update. Of course, this is just my opinion. Keep in mind that this is now the WN team handling the updates...they are now the new guys on the job at FL. There is nothing sneaky going on. They cannot combine the two entities, yet, as there is no Single Operating Certificate. It will come soon enough, just not yet. Rabidstoat Jan 23, 12, 7:41 pm It's probably my fault, because I just today decided to pull the trigger and book reward travel to Cancun. :p I was able to book it by calling in, though the lady on the phone said she wasn't able to verify that I did have the credits in my account. She also said that my reservation would show up as 'incomplete' in the system, until their computer is back online and can properly verify and deduct the credits. So from that, I gather that the credits WILL still be there. She said they 'hoped' to have that part of the system back up tonight, but that it could take 'a day or two' before I got my confirmation email. Also, who knew that taxes and 9/11 fees ATL-CUN-ATL are almost $70 roundtrip!!! bsenright Jan 23, 12, 7:53 pm This is totally untrue information about the credits. Servers are going through updating and system should be coming back up soon, hopefully, today. A+Rewards credits are not being moved to WN now - way too soon! Hopefully today. That is what Airtran has been saying for 3 days. Do you really think it takes 3 days for IT to correct a problem like this? Isn't it ironic that only the rewards system is down but you can book flights all you want. Seriously people, you need to wake up and smell the roses. Airtran is just keeping the masses at bay until Feb 1 when they announce rewards have been converted to Southwest. vcdflow Jan 23, 12, 8:50 pm Hopefully today. Just got off the phone with Airtran - they are saying that the Datacenter that stores A+ Rewards information was had a lightning strike and destroyed the Database. They are in the process of restoring this DB but they are not sure when it will be back up! bsenright Jan 23, 12, 9:01 pm Just got off the phone with Airtran - they are saying that the Datacenter that stores A+ Rewards information was had a lightning strike and destroyed the Database. They are in the process of restoring this DB but they are not sure when it will be back up! I work in IT and we can have a new DB server up with a complete reinstall of the backup within hours. they are pulling your leg and just keeping you off their back for awhile. I know it may seem like I am creating histeria but I am just pointing out it doesn't take 3 days to do things like this and it is just too ironic that it is happening so close to Feb 1. vcdflow Jan 24, 12, 6:36 am I work in IT and we can have a new DB server up with a complete reinstall of the backup within hours. they are pulling your leg and just keeping you off their back for awhile. Where did you read about the Feb 1 switchover? I'm curious as to what is really going to happen then. mke9499 Jan 24, 12, 7:17 am All back to normal, with the site fully functional, including being able to view my account. The credits are visible...safe and sound in my A+Rewards account. |
