flying from jnb to tana on airlink 8252 21 jan, with sked return sunday afternoon. we are told 8252 has to turn back to Jnb as Tana airport is closed, this because the former deposed president is on our plane and current madagascar administration wants hims arrested.
upon landing back in joburg, i request a refund as being put on tomorrow's plane makes no sense (my rt is for sunday 22!)
no one can help, the supervisor tells me to contact refund dept by phone on monday (today) and not to worry about being a no show on the sunday's flight...

SAA Airlink's <agent> contacts me today and tells me 1- my ticket is not refundable, 2- i was a no show at mada yesday afternoon and 3- to direct my claims to the Madagascar government directly...
well dear Airlink, 1- read the Q class rules, 2-i would have been there if you'd flown me there the day before! and 3-if you want to claim your loss after refunding me to them be my guest.... afterall, in terms of the SOUth African consumer act of 2011, SAA Airlink is in violation as service was not rendered...
oh i forgot to mention in my mail article 19 of the warsaw convention...

someone out there can tell me if i should bend over or fight pls??

Decline the charge with your credit card company as services not provided. If you paid cash or cheque, then you are probably SOL...but escalate this to the office of the CEO.

Charge back with your credit company with substantiating documentation of flight turnaround.
