Just booked 4 seats on line in Business on A3 from ATH to FRA for this August. I was surprised to see that there was no link to select seats. What's the scoop on reserving seats? All the A3 website references is Economy not Business.

I think you're assuming that at least 1 of the 64 has ever flown A3. I'd say that's your problem.

I don't know how to do it, but my first guess is always to go to lufthansa.com

Never tried A3 on lufthansa.com (well, never flown A3), but lufthansa site is usually very helpful with sit assignments for almost every airline.

Spanair comes to mind if you want to secure exit row.

So, if I booked the seats on the A3 site, how do I get seats using the LH site?

I don't know if it will work, but use Lufthansa's 'My Bookings' feature on the homepage and use your Amadeus PNR and Surname to access your booking - there may be an option there to select a seat.

In the past, I had a travel agent do my A3 tickets and she always reserved a seat for me. One time the seat was changed by Aegean or the airport. This was all domestic business class.

I'm one of the "64" and I was wondering what to say: You want to reserve seats in C, six months ahead of the flight. Why? Let me assure you that business class in A3 runs from row 1 to row n (thus, no exit rows!), depending on the number of passengers booked in that class, and there are only aisle or window seats (free middle seat). If you OLCI 48 hours ahead of the flight, which you can do on A3, you are absolutely certain to be the first one to do so and, thus, have the entire C cabin to your disposal. I have personally never thought of reserving a seat so early, on A3 or any other airline, but I know that this is my own attitude... ;) Of course, since the service is not available on-line, you did try to call them, didn't you?

Call A3.

The call center should be able to assign seats.

I get that, but we are coming off a cruise and will be at sea 48 hours out with limited to no internet access. I have not yet called direct but thought I'd double check here first. If you have a number where I can speak with an English speaking agent, I'd appreciate getting it. I'd ask in Greek but sadly my knowledge of the language is limited to saying "hello, a beer please, and where are the lavatories?" :)

LH, LOT and SAS Australia do not accept A3 PNR's (well, at least not on my booking for October).

Check My Trip shows the flight details, but no mention of seat assignments.

Don't worry about your Greek, all A3 agents speak English: +30 210 6261000 and, within Greece, 801 11 20000.

And remember, the worst case scenario is that you get a beer :D

Then the agents will speak British, while the OP will not be able to understand either.

ADDED. Response to post #13, which suggests calling the UK number.

Shame, Sir! I can speak AND understand the Queen's English quite well. Now bugger off :D

Relax Americans! Most agents speak fluent English, their accent resembling that of Anthony Queen's in "Zorba the Greek". By the way (really off topic!), this reminds me of a film review in the NY Times in the early 80s (Paul Mazursky's "The Tempest"), in which it was stated that Raúl Juliá's Kalibanos was the best impersonation of a Greek after Anthony Quinn's one. It was then when I realized that we Greeks are "different"! ;)
