Hey there,
On April 5th I will take Swiss from ZRH to MUM. I'll arrive at about 23:00. Then I have a connecting flight MUM-BKK with 9W at 07:30, but on a separate ticket. I don't have an Indian Visa because I should actually be able to stay in the international terminal. Will it be a problem to wait there for about 8 hours for the next flight?
Another Question about the baggage (not sure if I will only take carryon):
If i do check bags in ZRH and I manage to have them tagged to BKK, do I still have to pick them up in MUM for identification? If the question to this is yes, would i need a transit visa for that?
If I don't check any bags I can go straight to the new gate, is that true?
For the return I have the save intinerary: BKK-MOM-ZRH on 9W and LX with a 7 hour layover. That's gonna work the same, right?
I just want to make sure to get to BKK without needing an Indian Visa.
Greetings and thanks for the help

thx for the link, I had actually already read through these posts, but couldn't find the answer to my question. In the link u sent me there is useful stuff for connecting time and for the transfer between International and domestic.
I will be staying in the international terminal and i will have more than enough connection time anyway :)
So I'd still be happy about some help to my problem :)

welcome to ft shardik....the link mr. bean provided should be helpful....but in any case you should ask swiss if they can tag the bags to your final destination....swiss & jet are partner airlines but i'm not sure if they have a baggage agreement when you are on different pnrs....

LOL

If you won't check bags, you should be fine with just going to the transit area to check in, but you won't be able to leave the sterile transit area without a visa.

In theory you should be OK without a visa, but it is a chance I would never be willing to take if avoidable. A single LX agent or GOI employee could make the whole trip a nightmare for you. Get the visa, as others have hinted.
