Other Hotel Programs - RIP Delta YOW Hotel & Suites

For those who may have missed it, the Delta Hotel & Suites at 361 Queen Street in YOW is no longer a Delta property, effective Feb 1, 2012:

Here is what I will miss about the old Delta:
+ spacious rooms & suites;
+ water slide for kids of all ages;
+ reasonable rates & a great family restauarant!
The "new" Delta in Ottawa is the old Crowne Plaza City Centre, currently undergoing a $25 million renovation.
After Feb 1, Westmont Hospitality Group will continue to operate the old Delta as an independent. Checked today, and Delta Privilege benefits are available until Jan 31, 2012.

Ditto....will also miss the Delta Grandview , Sherwood Inn, Rocky Crest after Feb 12 2012...Never liked the Ottawa Crown Plaza but maybe the reno's under Delta will improve the place....Wonder what , if any, other locations are leaving?

Nice if Delta found something new for the Muskoka's, Sudbury, & Niagara Falls to round things out in Ontario

FYI.....Feb 6 article with a possible clue to Delta's future plans..."One industry expert suggested that Delta is focusing on buildings where it owns the property"

PS....Too bad it didn't relabel as an Intercontinental. Always thought it odd no IC in our Capital
