probably 75-80....

edit to add....above is way low.....37 ports in 2011 & ~ 32 other cruises....

i assume that the count is for ports on cruises & doesn't include the ones visited from the land side....

edit again....i'm pretty sure its north of 150...not sure about antarctic count, but i guess if you go ashore, it should count....

Worked on ships for about 5 years.. All home ported out of the US, 6-8month contracts, typically 3/4day or 4/5/5day cycles.

Seen Nassau too many times...

As a paying passenger (not a lot thanks to CAS) I've done a couple this year and heading to Venice with NCL later this year.

Brisbane - Aust. (P&O Sea Princess)
Sydney - Aust
Auckland - NZ
Suva - Fiji

St Croix - USVI (all ports below onboard Celebrity Summit)
Basseterre - St Kitts
Roseau - Dominica
St Georges - Grenada
St Thomas - USVI
San Juan - Puerto Rico (Departure/Arrival Point)

I grew up in a shipping family so was not uncommon as a child to be told to:

a) pick that up off the deck
b) take that into the galley
c) steady the buffs aka settle down (as in fighting)

and my personal favourite:

d) "I sailed up and down the China Coast for 3 years & never heard anything like it" (with reference to language used in conjunction with c) above.

Apparently I'm around 98 days (according to Princess, which all my cruises have been on). I think that number is a couple days off, because I think they gave us full credit for the aborted Crown Princess cruise that listed. I had a fair number of cruises before ever repeating a port, so there's a lot of variety as a result.

Hmm, including the starting/ending ports, for me:

1) New York (start)
2) St. Thomas
3) Grand Turk
4) Ocho Rios
5) Grand Cayman
6) Port Canaveral
7) Galveston (start)
8) Roatan
9) Belize
10) Costa Maya
11) Cozumel
12) Athens (start)
13) Istanbul
14) Canakkale
15) Santorini
16) Malta
17) Sorento
18) Rome
19) Portofino
20) Barcelona (probably doesn't count, port to airport only)
21) San Juan (start/end)
22) Barbados
23) St. Lucia
24) Antigua
25) Tortola
26) Long Beach (start)
27) Huatulco
28) Puerto Quetzo, Guatemala
29) Puerto Corinto, Nicaragua
30) Puntarenas, Costa Rica
31) Panama Canal
32) Catagena
33) Aruba
34) Ft. Lauderdale (start and end multiple times)
35) Vancouver (start)
36) Ketchikan
37) Juneau
38) Skagway
39) Whittier (end)
40) Manaus
41) Parintins
42) Boca da Valeria
43) Santarem
44) Ile Royale (billed as Devils Island, but you don't really visit that)
45) Port of Spain, Trinidad
46) St. Maarten (was supposed to be a different port)
47) Princess Cays
48) Rio de Janeiro (start)
49) Montevideo
50) Buenos Aires
51) Falkland Islands
51) Ushuaia
52) Punta Arenas, Chile
53) Valparaiso (end)

Might be one or two I'm missing in there, getting hard to remember. All this from a guy that before I started cruises, all I'd ever been to was Canada (and possibly Mexico as a very young kid).
