Fairmont President's Club - Fairmont YVR - Key Required?

I want to surprise a friend at the Fairmont YVR with some flowers (no, I'm not a stalker - I'll need to call up to get her room number anyway :))

Anyone know if I'll need a room key to access the guest floors at the Fairmont YVR (either to use the elevator or flash to a guard), or can I just go up to her room and knock on her door?

If you called would they give you the room number? I wouldn't think so but could be wrong.

Leave the flowers at the front desk and have the staff deliver up to the room.. unless you want to be there personally, so will have to get the staff to call up and get permission to release the room number.

The flowers are the suprise, not my presence. I'm quite sure they won't give me her room number, which is fine. I'll call her cell or use a house phone to ask the operator to connect me with "Miss XXX" - She'll be pleased to know I'm there and she'll give me her room number. I just want to know if I'll be able to proceed to her room or whether she'll have to come down and get me...

you need a room key to access the elevators unless you want to tailgate another guest
