I reserved the least espensive 1 King Bed Room at the Super 8 Costa Mesa/Newport Beach Area the other day on the WyndhamRewars website. It said:
1 King Bed Non-Smoking Room with free continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi, refrigerator and microwave
on my reservation.
I bought a frozen dinner on the way to the hotel, intending to microwave it and eat in my room while watching the two-hour premiere of Alcatraz on Fox.
I looked all over the room and couldn't find a microwve.
Finally during a commercial break I called the front desk, and the clerk told me there are no microwaves in this kind of room. He didn't care that it said there was on my reservation, and he said that he could move me to a room with a microwave but that I'd have to pay up. Finally he mentioned that there's also a microwave in the lobby. (He also said they could get me a microwave in the morning, but of course that wouldn't help with my frozen dinner. He seemed not to understand that!)
I ended up running (through the cold) to the lobby during one commercial break to put the frozen dinner in the microwave and running back during the next commercial break to get it back to my room.
I wouldn't have bought a frozen dinner if I had not seen the "microwave" on my list of room amenities on my reservation.
(The manager wasn't there when I checked out the next morning, so I didn't bring the issue back up then.)
Who do I contact to get the room descriptions for this hotel fixed on the WyndhamRewards website? (I don't know if I want to use the hotel email that's on the hotel website, since I don't want the same clerk to read this, only the manager, and I don't know who reads the hotel emails.)
(I still have the printout of my reservation with this "microwave" wording.)
Thanks.

Hello, I am sorry to hear the room description was not correct. I would ask that you contact Customer Care to let them know about your experience. Their phone number is 800-454-3509.
If you need any further assistance please let me know.
Thank you

What do you expect from Super 8? Seriously... These properties are complete garbage.

Actually, I've seen some that are quite nice.
OP, did someone at customer care resolve this for you? I know I'd be disappointed if the room description was not accurate, as often, I plan for a fridge or microwave, if it indicates that I'll have one in the description.

Seriously, I'm not sure what hotes/motels you stay at in small towns if you think "all" Super8's are garbage. There just aren't Hyatt's everywhere, you know!
This was the only problem I had with this property (with a dozen or more stays there over the last couple years)! It's otherwise nice, in fact, above average for a buget motel. Yes, the breakfast is very minimal, but I know to expect that, and just eat breakfast elesewhere. But, for example, it's got nice widescreen TV with digital cable with oodles of channels more than usual.

Yes, thought it took a while.
In fact, I thought it hadn't been fixed yet, because when I checked last week it was still the old description, but I just re-checked right now, and finally it's fixed.
Customer care contacted the hotel manager who emailed me, and I was able to explain the situation in detail. It turned out that the microwaves are available on request only (and apparently they were all "used up" that night).
At any rate, iit took a few weeks to get the room description online fixed, but it is finally fixed now.
Just FYI: In this case there was only one room type that had the information wrong (no other room other than the very cheapest type of king room nonsmoking had claimed to have a microwave), and the hotel website (where it lists all the features of the hotel) never claimed a microwave was in the rooms. So my suggestion based on this experience would be to check both the overal hotel amenities list, plus see if there's a pattern to rooms that have the microwave, if you want to be more sure.
(My case was a little different, in that I wasn't planning for a microwave, but rather I made my dinner plans and dinner timing plans that night based on glancing at my reservation printout. Never again will I assume just that is enough!)

I guess I'd expect the description to be correct.

I would expect it, but I wouldn't stake dinner plans on it. The good news is that there was a microwave available to the OP.
