As posted today the Virgin Rep in AFF

As always, we've been listening, and we hear you on the hot dinners so, as of today, we are pleased to provide a weekday hot dish option in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane lounges.

In addition to the toasties, soups, salads, themed meal and pass-around pizza and cocktails pies (5-7pm), you can now enjoy a hot dog, curry, or Mexican feast. A sample of what's on offer (Sydney lounge dinner menu) follows:

Pass arounds 5-7pm - mozzarella pizza, lamb and rosemary mini-pies; minestrone soup; Israeli cous cous, Thai noodle, potato with sour cream and herbs salads; make your own Greek salad - meatballs, tzatiki, Greek salad (no feta), marinated feta cheese, pita pocket, Mexican cantina - chickpea & chorizo, tortillas, avocado dip, sour cream, corn chips, caramel slice, and a cheese plate. While hot dogs are on Melbourne's menu, and curry is in Brisbane.

This has of course been designed by our chef, Luke Mangan!

We're also pleased to bring you a more premium wine selection to enjoy it with!

This quarter's selection is an all-Australian selection focusing on hero regions and offering boutique and big name brands - including Margan Rose, Capel Vale Sav Blanc, Knappstein Riesling, Phillip Shaw Chardonnay, Josef Chromy Pinot Noir, Pikes Shiraz, and Katnook Cab Sauv.

For the beer drinkers, Asahi returns to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, Corona added to Brisbane selection, and Beez Neez to Sydney's range.

Note: Beer & wine change quarterly, food monthly with a different menu on offer in each lounge. New menus on the bar and buffet will also keep you up to date on what's on offer.

Was in the BNE lounge last night for the chicken curry. You could smell it as soon as you walked in! :D

It was very popular... had to keep getting refilled.

Now if only they had a breakfast option on the plane (even if for just early morning flights)! There are arguments that a flex fare will get you breakfast, but know of some BFOD policies which do not allow flex fares on the morning flight (on the basis that there is no time-dependent meeting beforehand). Thankfully thats not my employer.

Good days and great memories *sigh*
Could never bring myself to go across to Qantas, never been a fan...so more than happy with the progress that Virgin is now making

Good days and great memories *sigh*...Just to note, that with the "2 Airline System" both AN and QF/TN could charge "the Earth" and get away with it as there was generally little other option.

That who were fortunate enough to travel in that era can easily remember the "good old days (I'm one).

Whether AN or QF/TN it was little different.

Is there a similar food offering in the Perth lounge?
