Hilton HHonors - Did I get charged for an award stay?

I just completed an award stay at the ES Chicago - lakeside. At checkout I had a balance of $1 for a phone call. I just checked my activity at HHonors.com, after updating my profile, and it is crediting me for 1 stay and 2 nights. It also says the folio was $88.80. As of today my credit card only shows the $1 charge. The going rate at the hotel was $219 + taxes.

Do you have any idea why there is a difference? Does it have something to do with the taxes? I sure hope they don't try to bill me the $88.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. The amount shown seems to be what HHonors paid to the hotel for your stay.

Here's the important question: Did you get miles too?

I have had it where the computer gets confused and gives me points (and my Diamond bonus) and miles for award stays. My hunch is that it has something to do with the way the hotel bills HHonors. This is purely a speculative theory.

Remember, I am not an IT professional; I just play one on TV.

I was wondering if this was a consistent thing one would see on award stays. I was just looking at the reservation I have for a GLON next month and it shows a per night rate of 47.95, total for 6 nights 320.79 with tax. I'm thinking I should be concerned.

it's how much hhonors pays the hotel.. u sometime get it as pts.. its normal

I got the base points for this compensation amount on my last award stay, but no Diamond bonus points or airline miles. Fine with me. I was happy just to get the base points.

I received stay credit, base points and 25% bonus points (GOLD status) at HWV for last weeks award for folio of $328. I also charged $76. to my room for breakfast upgrades and 2 t-shirts at the resort. I have no way of knowing if the $76 was part of the $328. Happy to get the base points and stay credit.
Another poster stated he received base points, bonus points, stay credit, AND 500 airmiles.

Thanks gang. The answer I got from HHonors was that this represented the amount I would be charged if I cancelled after the 3 days prior allowed. Mmmmmmmaybe?

Looking at my award stays I had a two two night cat 2 with a listed $69.34 folio.

However, on my reservation, it lists a rate of $249 per night.

I'm guessing its what hhonors paid. I noticed something similar for a starwood free night promotion a few years back (100s of points for $3 cranberry juice), so hilton isn't the only one that does it.
