Hilton HHonors - Hilton brings out the old Scandic, InfraCity and Linkoping to go

According to TV8 Financial news tonight here in Sweden Hilton will take down Hilton InfraCity (north of Stockholm) as well as Linköping Hilton, these two will be Scandic hotels again http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif They didn´t mention when this will happen.

This is sad since InfraCity was a nice "bedrun" weekend Hilton with good prices for us in Sweden http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I have stayed at Hilton InfraCity twice and I really like that big hotel.

I never understood why Hilton choosed LPI though.

Can someone explain why they will became Scandics again?

I agree it's sad for "bed-runners" like us. They explain it's primarily due to lack of business travellers in the IT and telecom sector.

I'm curious why? It's the same hotel. People complained that these are just repainted Scandics. I have to say that I rather liked the Scandics I've stayed at.

Is it the 1000 points/night vs. the 10pts/$?

Scandic only counts as nights and not as stay credits towards VIP levels in HHonors. Harder to qualify with nights instead of stays in my opinion.

Among university students in Linköping, the Hilton was a popular place for having brunch.. The more high-yield clientele left with Ericsson, Nokia and Flextronics. In Dagens Industry from June 4 it says the change of signs will be carried out before August 31.

According by a post by Gustaf on SAS forum Hilton Infra City is a Hilton until the last of august. From the 1st of September the hotel is back as a Scandic hotel.

Please note that the free shuttle from Arlanda airport is already gone. One way taxi is about 250sek.
